Gravatar Hugz Lisa, well done

Gravatar Wow, Lisa, one of THE BEST written ones...you did good, girl.

Gravatar I agree with Monica, this has been one of the best that I've read. My eyes are full of tears because I can't imagine that kind of loss. Very well done and a great tribute!

Gravatar You did an amazing job. Very well written. It brought tears to my eyes.

Gravatar It's so painfully sad to read about him, but necessary to honor his memory. This is a beautiful tribune that brought tears to my eyes.

Gravatar Absolutely beautiful job, Lisa. But then again, I would have expected nothing less from you. Your heart shines through in everything you do.

Michael souns like he was a wonderful individual, and you have honored him well.

Gravatar A good tribute Lisa well done

Gravatar Lisa what a poignant tribute. I too was teary eyed reading it. I watched some of the TV coverage again over the weekend and had to turn the TV off because it was so "REAL" as opposed to surreal when the attack actually happened 5 years ago. I cannot imagine the loss the Ragusa's and the other families affected by this tragedy felt. I am sure that in reading these tributes from ordinary people from all over the world, these families will feel proud to know that their sons/daughters/loved ones made their mark on this world and that people like you have taken time out to pay homage to them. Well done.

Gravatar that is such a moving tribute

*hugs*

Gravatar Thank you for writing this moving tribute to a true hero who's only thought was to help others. Wonderful post.

Please stop by to my tribute for Gilbert and leave a link and comment so that others can come here to read.

Gravatar Great Job, Lisa.

Gravatar A wonderful tribute.

Gravatar Beautiful tribute Lisa. Thanks for stoppong by to remember Harry Ramos. Harry died on the 36th floor helping a stranger, and Michael probably died on the 30th - 40th floor. Perhaps their lives crossed in thier final moments.

Gravatar This is the real magic of the whole mess. People will band together in the face of insurmountable tragedy to overcome. Thank you for being of of those dedicating their time to remembering those that gave so much that day. They will never be completely gone so long as they are remembered.

Gravatar Wow...this is beautiful!

Gravatar very good post lisa. i am an emotional guy and the more i read the more tears fall and if i keep reading blogs today i will be a wreck but we all need to be a wreck on a day like this and never forget those that gave their lives and we should all think of the famileis that said goodbye that morning to their loved ones that would never return.

Gravatar WELL DONE LISA!!
Very touching, what a honarable man.
Today is so emotional for all of us. It's scary to see things like the our local coast guard boats armed and ammo cans close by. We are all on edge on this day and always will be.

Gravatar As always, Lisa, well done.

I said it before, and I feel it bears repeating, you are a fantastic writer.

A beautiful tribute to an "average joe" who died being a hero.

Perfect.

Gravatar Nice job girl

Gravatar Lisa yours is one of the best I have read so far today. I have a lump in my throat .... Well done.

Gravatar What an amazing heartfelt tribute. His parents would be proud if they read this.

Gravatar All: Thank you all so much for coming in here and reading about Michael. There are so many wonderful tributes out there to those that lost their lives in this needless tragedy.

Unfortunately I've just discovered that the link is temporarily unavailable, I guess that's due to so many try to access it, dunno. If the link comes back up and you get the chance, it certainly is worth going and having a look.

Giving the 911 victims their voices back again, albeit for only a brief time, has been a heart warming but deeply sad experience for me. But I felt it a necessary one.

Once again, thank you.

Gravatar I have been reading tributes all day and must say, this is one is one of the most eloquently written so far. Thank you for taking the time to allow us to know this young hero.

Gravatar Wow - a very well written tribute to honor a true American Hero. Thank You for being a part!

Gravatar A beautiful tribute, he'd have loved it And thank you for stopping by my tribute to Lt. Fodor. I don't know how two people ended up with the same person, but yes, you're right it is special and I'm so happy we're all honoring these heroes today, all 2996 of them and their families.

Gravatar Well said Lisa, you brought tears to my eyes.

Gravatar That is a wonderful tribute. The fact that they buried 2 teaspoons of his blood...heartwrenching. I don't know how those families ever carry on with a loss like that.

Thanks for your message on my blog. It was hard to write about because 9/11 is also a day of great happiness in our family.

Gravatar Hi Lisa,

Yes, it has been hard reading of love lost on that day.

I wrote to the mother-in-law of Matthew Diaz that truth be told, we are really paying tribute to these precious ones who died mostly for our own sake- because we, too, need to try and understand what was lost on that day, we, too are trying to make sense of it all. Writing, for me and many others, eases the dullness and the little pain we have experienced compared to the families.

We must thank all of the families for allowing us to share in their pain, grief and even celebration of life, but stating we cannot fully understand the magnitude of their loss. All of us lost something on that day, some lost the ultimate, others lost loved ones and family. By writing and attempting to pay tribute, we try to find a little of what was lost, a little of ourselves in another.

Michael would have understood this- so would his family. They would surely share in the loss and celebration of Michael...because there is so much of both to share.

Peace & blessings to you and yours,

Gravatar Wow! You did an excellent job of writing up this amazing man. It leaves me feeling that he would have not chosen to die any other way, and although that is awful for the family...it also sounds like they understand that fact as well.

Gravatar That was beautiful

Gravatar What a post! If I can see through these blurry eyeballs of mine,I just HAVE to tell you what an awesome tribute you've paid to Michael.I know he's looking down on you with a great big smile right now just knowing that even though we lost him,he has NOT been forgotten.
Your such an angel for putting a name with one of the many numbers of unfortunate human beings that lost their lives that horrible day 5 years ago.
Great big hugs!
Love ya!
T.

Gravatar This I think is the best tribute I have seen so far. You did this firefighter great justice. I am sure that he blew you a kiss from Heaven.

Thank you for stopping by.. I was returning the favor!

Gravatar a nice reminder that average americans are pretty much nice people. It is only their ratbag tv and movie types who do them a grave disservice.

Gravatar Thorough and endearing tribute.
I'll never look at my bone marrow donor card the same way again...

Gravatar Hi Lisa,

I had just been reading Mikey's tribute pages of the New York Times Legacy. It is now November 14, 2009 and I came across your posting from September 10, 2006.

My name is Christine. I am Mikey's only sister. I just wanted to tell you as I sit here with tears in my eyes after reading, I am honored and touched by your website about Michael. It is a beautiful site.

I will be forwarding your NY Times Legacy posting to my family, along with your website so they too may view this.

Never feel out place in contacting anyone in my family. Just knowing that 5 years later in 2006 someone in New Zealand, which is on the other side of the world for us, is writing about my little brother and helping to make his name live on, that brings both tears of sorrow and of joy to to me in know that you have allowed our Mikey to touch your life and other's lives in New Zealand. We can never have Mikey back, but you honor Michael and my family through your website.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish you could have known that unique, loving and caring individual, my little brother, Mikey.
