SD - the Al Sadr issue is interesting to say the least. What surprises this layman however is by not going into Sadr City don't we risk giving his goons an on-going safe haven to operate from causing trouble in surounding areas they are trying to secure right now?
MG Caldwell and others are being understandably cautiously optimistic but it does seem to me on an overall level the COTW and ISF have now regained the momentum they had just after the election then lost with the paralysis of the government formation period.
Makes you realise, and hopefully Iraqis realise too, how hopeless Jaafari was. Al' Maliki is going to achieve twice as much in half the time the way its shaping up.

nailgun,
The only thing to do wth a guy like AlSadr is to marginalize and discredit him.
All the other neighborhoods will have good security, and his will be crime ridden.
Normal everyday people will figure it out.
I expect his next "Million Man March" to draw maybe 3 or 4 thousand.
It sounds cruel, but turning him into a Martyr would be worse.
