Thanks SD2. Many of us at Iraqi Mojo are very interested in the clean tech industry, or actually in it:

This is an important subject. Note that wind power costs 6 to 8 cents per kilowatt hour. Today the marginal natural gas cost per kilowatt hour = about 13 cents/kilowatt hour = maybe 15 cents average cost including fixed costs.
Electricity costs in India were 16 cents per kilowatt hour before the current crisis. (India hasn't been able to build a pipeline to import natural gas through Afghanistan and Pakistan.) There is a massive push for cheaper electricity around the world.

Also, has there been an Afghan opinion poll taken this year?

Anand,
Natural gas isn't the long term answer in IMHO. One disadvantage of Nuclear is that is costs the same to run the plant whether it is running as 100% capacity or 10% capacity.
The nuclear plant near where I grew up pumped water into a manmade reservoir at off peak times and then had a little "hydro-electric" plant next door to supply peak power. Of course the enviro-whako's had a fit. Destroying nature..blah..blah....
The long term answer is to park the nuclear electric plant next to the natural gas electric plant.
Off peak the nuclear plant uses the excess electricity to create hydrogen to burn in the natural gas plant during peak consumption. Any thing that can burn natural gas can burn hydrogen...just need to change the mixer valves...power plants have electronically adjustable mixer valves. So problem solved.
