I agree. There is not way a page is going to shoot to the top 10 in a day. However, the internet does provide great mechanisms - PPC - to get messaging into the eye of the user.

Even though in this case an apology probably isn't good enough due to the children at risk.

Thanks for the update, glad to see Fisher-Price/Matel is apologizing. too bad the apology still isn't hosted on their website though. I know it's not much, but at least it's something.

Handling the crisis better? What about searching out blogs and forums bashing their product and spreading this news?
I think stepping into the conversation as a company in a transparent, real, sincere way might have been a good use of a PR pro's time that day.
