The author of the article you reference said something that gave me pause: "You must change the game and create content that's so valuable that business users are willing to pay for it."
He lectures on Web 2.0 - but the point of 2.0 is a free-flow of data, not squatting on content and charging for it.
To me (and my generation, i think) the net equals free. if you prompt me to pay for content i will find your content somewhere else after a quick search.
