So, here's your very personal post for this special day.
We who are not Marines know this:
we always accomplished our mission
[...]
every single one of these fellows would fight with you, and maybe even die for you, because that's what it is to be a United States Marine.
And I've have been proud to introduce you to my mother!

The word "awesome" is thrown around in today's semi-slang.
If I was was King of the World, and I know it is a good thing that is not the case, I would - however - change the dictionary. Under "awesome" I would have: The United States Marine Corps.
I would readily admit that not all Marines have done all things right all the time. However, if you really want quality and you really want the job done. The Marines are the one's you call.
Finally, Mustang is on my very, very short list of Marines who made a difference in my life and in the lives of lots of Marines.
Mustang, words do fail me in my gratitude to you. Happy Birthday, Comrade.

Mustang,
//Not all of these fine Marines are alive today, but they remain with me today,//
They will live forever, because the Marine Corps. lives forever.

One of my sock puppets left a very special tribute today to a marine who was near and dear to my father's heart... his brother Hank. Dad joined the USAF in '46 and became part of Occupation Forces in Japan in the early 50's.
