Gravatar Hi,
You have a huge point. So far I always tended to think that this whole debate was a no-debate, because society reserved the right to remove extreme elements. However after reading your write-up I am beginning to see the otherside of things. Thanks.

Gravatar Thanks for your comment, Rajesh.

I have no problem with State sponsored executions, at least in theory. I do have a problem with the real-world system that confers them and executes them. This human system is far too prone to errors. And, as a matter of principle, that is unsatisfactory. Better that 100 evil men be sentenced to life in prison without parol than a single innocent be executed.

Gravatar If that "Life Imprisonment" sentence was actually carried out, rather than toyed with to produce paroles of convicted felons, perhaps I would agree. But there are too many ways to "gin" the system. Otherwise Saint Mumia would have been "offed" a long time ago, rather than to continue to be a cover-boy for imagined racial oppression these many years.

One solution to the problem of prosecutorial shenanigans - think Nifong! - would be to make those individuals criminally liable for misconduct. Their immunity despite evidence of political activism is a disgrace.

I agree with your point. Prosecutors like Nifong, Fitzgerald and some DuPage County prosecutors should be called to give an accounting for their actions.

For myself, I will speak out on what ever platform I can find. And, as a juror, I would refuse to convict if I knew capital punishment was a possibility.

Gravatar I read a similar article posted on a nursing forum not too long ago on whether or not the drugs are given in proper doses and it described some horrific deaths. I've been trying to find a link to it, but I've been unsuccessful so far. You should check out the Innocence Project too.
