When I was a kid and didn't want to eat, my mother used to tell me: "You should thank God that you have something to eat while a lot of kids out there are starving to death."
As Catholic as I am, that always struck me as awkward.
Most scholars who deal with hermeneutics, phenomenology, deconstruction, and all those fields are nothing but specialised pomo sophists.
