Gravatar As much as I hate rap music from all musical and lyrical points of view, I'd have to agree with you because it does take for a strong person to survive let alone prosper in this field of showbusiness.
Perhaps this 'strength' of character is setting a good example for the young but with all the wrong ideals and values. Indeed, i could never agree that the lifestyle that is vulgarly exuded from say, 50 Cent's videos, can be vindicated for the sole reason of illustrating to posterity that you ought to be strong to survive. On the contrary, I think such videos exemplify nothing more than falsity of values and take into no account that there are more worthwhile things in life than what's shown.
Surviving to fight another day is fine by me, but fighting for the sake of making a video that shows in you such a light as 50 Cent is not only contradictive to the whole point of this 'battle of egos' but is in itself pathetic.

Gravatar Yep. It's sad really, because a person of personal strength and ambition coming from a humble background is obviously someone above the norms, yet for reasons of culture and/or profit they aspire to be no different than the petty thugs beneath them.
