Wow Tim!! I'm impressed. What a wonderful job you've undertaken... Yep, and it's the process not necessarily the end result..

Character sketches are also important in genealogy. They help the Family Tree come alive. I have asked some of my family to tell me what they remember of their mother or father or grandparent. Those who have been kind enough to reply have provided a wealth of information that would otherwise be lost. It has also explained, to some extent, why my parents were the way they where when I was growing up.
Each little sketch or narrative is attached to a photograph of the individual and put in a book. I usually add a little something to each sketch about the person who wrote it. In addition I often take notes at family gatherings whenever an interesting story is being told about an old aunt or uncle or grandparent and add that to any information I may already have. The stories never seem to stop growing and more importantly a bond is formed with those telling the story and with those family members of days long pasted. Sharing what I have written always brings out more information and stories and the writing continues. I now know that I will never finish writing these character sketches and narratives but then, finishing is not really the point.
