Gravatar Great post! Thanks for sharing.

Gravatar Thanks for this upbeat post. Glad to meet another Clark convert(???). I heard the General speak in Norfolk on much the same topics he seems to have covered in LA--he has a great message, and the charisma to give it punch.
Interesting that you were a classics major--so was I. Not too many around.

Gravatar Listening to General Clark is very special because in these days of over-spin and over-the-top news, hearing the words of a straight talker demands a celebration. And it is not just that the General tells truth to power, a great act in and of itself, it is his wisdom and intelligence that keeps me wanting to hear more.

Our very democracy is in trouble, a situation that will mean more problems, more Iraqs, unless we find some leadership. During the primaries of '04 when the Clark campaigned rolled out the phrase: "A Higher Standard of Leadership." I thought: "cool" a good slogan. It took me months to realize that WKC meant exactly that: A Higher Standard of Leadership! America knows this is what we need, but it remains to be seen if America can reach a "A Higher Standard of Thinking" and put this man in the oval office.

Weird or sad or both really, to think that George Bush is in the WHouse, and the country had a chance for President Clark. He is an amazing man.

Keep blogging! It is good to hear from you.

Gravatar Thanks for the comments everyone. It truly was a wonderful experience.

It all makes me want to attend the Clark convention in Little Rock in August...

Gravatar I agree with all you said. It was a true pleasure meeting and visiting with the General, it clarified some feelings I had about his viability as a candidate.

I found myself disliking his answer re: pulling out of Iraq, and I found myself feeling uncomfortable about that. But I also was glad he didn't give the glib Kucinich answer (sorry, Dennis) that we had to pull out immediately. While as a touchy-feely lefty I love instant gratification, I recognize that as adult members of the international community, we broke the country, now we have to at least attempt to help fix it.

The General was right about this. As uncomfortable as it makes me, such is the price of maturity.

Pam & I enjoyed hanging out with you, as well!

Gravatar Thank you for this post on General Clark's talk in LA last night!

One of the points he made that stood out as a "call to action" from bloggers is drawing attention to the torture of prisoners and specifically to the story of Capt. Ian Fishback. This is one of the many stories the MSM sort of glossed over and let die.

A few of the bloggers at CCN (Clark Community Network) have been posting information on this story and I hope everyone will take Clark's challenge for us to get this story out far and wide!!

Please see the posts HERE and HERE for further information on Capt. Fishback's disturbing story.

Thank you again for this report!
