Quite the opposite from Lowry's "We're Winning" cover in '04, eh?

Not only different from last year--but different from earlier this year.
Do you remember the cover that had a mock gift package from Howard Dean to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, talking about how the "defeatocrats" were jeopardizing Bush's promulgation of liberty in the Middle East? It's amazing how quickly things can change.

I think my subscription went lax by then. This is an interesting trend we are seeing. Right wing/conservative magazines like the National Review are beginning to own up about alot of things-witness above Rich admitting "Uh, sorry to depress everyone, but Abramoff is our problem." Yet the horde sullies on, fully convinced it is a bipartisan scandal. They can't even take cues from their intellectual vanguards who created the reservation!
There's a huge group of people who have invested too much intellectual and emotional capital into failed ideas/failed politics and cannot admit they have been fooled or that their heroes are chumps.

Yeah, well, William F. Buckley should know better than to aid and abet the terrorists like that. We certainly don't need to remind them that we're losing.
Why is it that 60% of America are fucking traitors???
Honestly, if we just scaffolded and hung 6 out of 10 people in this country, we could solve our population problems, too. That's my modest proposal, anyway...

Ronald,
This diary by Armando at Daily Kos pretty much exemplifies what you've been talking about. Basically, anyone who's listening and paying attention--and that includes ultra-conservatives at the National Review--has to eventually realize the truth.
There is a separation coming between those who hold to their political beliefs while still recognizing the facts on the ground--such as Buckley--and the BushCultists.
A good example of BushCultism: the recent Fox News ticker that said "civil war in Iraq: is it a good thing?" Despicable.
