you know, there are always worse things to be than a Fritton.
i know i have given you this speech before, but the teachers i remember were the ones who made or encouraged me to think as abstractly as i wanted. no, you can't get to everyone but, as you clearly know yourself, when you are the kid that's affected by the teacher, it really does change your life.
just remember what the definition of "over-thinking" is for my own concerns about your stress levels, please. passion is passion is passion. you have always been passionate about being a teacher and the more experince you have only drives you to reach out and touch more kids - and not in the creepy way that's freudian. don't burn yourself out, but enjoy the feeling of being completely absorbed by something - that's positive, even.
i'm happy for ya, kiddo.

WOW! Dan, I hope that everyone out there puts the time, energy, creativity and enthusiasm into their jobs that you do. (hell i wish i liked/was devoted to my job half as much as you are to yours!) You are a pillar and your students are blessed to have you. Good luck on the school year! And thank you for your post...it made my day to know that someone with you passion and dedication is teaching/shaping the future of kids!!!
