Gravatar Wow, so talented!

Gravatar We treat coffee like fuel. I can't imagine being late to work because I had to stop off and pick up a cinnamon apple herbal tea, but being late because of coffee is like being late because I had to brush my teeth. Necessary..

Gravatar Found a wonderful coffee shop in San Marco that uses wonderful "real" cups when you enjoy your coffee there. I guess that's why it's become a weekly favorite spot. Feels like going to your friends house and having coffee and gossiping while sitting on a comfy couch.

By the way..it's nice to be reading you again. Missed your words.

Gravatar thanks for listening today. over coffee, none-the-less.

and you know, i can't wait to hear the progression of karma.

Gravatar Hey, that song sounds familiar.

Gravatar delicate and beautiful.

one of my housemates, chie, is from japan, she wants to share some tea ceremonies with us. she will go back to japan in a month or so, when she will learn the full ritual from her parents - she can't remember it properly as it is... until then i will smell the coffee...

Gravatar ...the moments of the past cooling like liquid in a cup...

And no matter how good the coffee was, it just isn't drinkable once it's cooled in the cup on my desk. I've tried, I TRY, all the time... what happens to it? How can it be so fundamentally different?

Gravatar I've been to a tea ceremony in japan. 2- one from a teacher of tea ceremony and one from a student.

the tea for the traditional type is so thick and bitter it is surprising. Delicious. but more potent than the regular green tea. It is also served with some snacks that complement and contrast its flavor.

Anyway, I hardly have the patience for sitting seiza (sp? not much for romaji) for the length of the ceremony (which isn't really that long normally but sitting with your legs under you with good posture is taxing), but I did both times, and it was worth it.

Gravatar My morning coffee is indeed a ritual, if not quite so heavy with tradition and meaning as a tea ceremony. I think that it is made more so by the fact that my job keeps me from the regular definition of "morning." The coffee-making ritual and the drinking of my 3 cups is sort of a line of demarcation for me, it marks the beginning of my day regardless of what time it actually is.
Also, I can't drink coffee out of paper cups, and even travel mugs annoy me. I have to be using a proper porcelan mug to really feel like I'm having coffee.

Gravatar Man, Speedway had a Chai Latte that rocked my world....awesome shit. Got addicted to it and then they took it away.....sucked.
Long time , no talk , by the way...hope you're doing well .
Steph
