just FYI, "usually" the owe-other-taxes blurb is if you mis-filed and actually owe more than you claimed to owe. As far as the debt, have you thought about putting a percentage of your refund back into how much you owe so you can get out from under it sooner, vs a shiny new pedal. I'm sure you really want it, but.... it just seems like a more fiscally responsible decision to take down your debt first.

You don't owe the government shit. Actually, I'd suggest trying to find a way out of the repayment plan, change the money you have to pennies, stick all the pennies in a box, take a dump in the box and mail it to Washington.

Then again, I'm blogging from a federal penitentiary right now, so my word might not mean very much to you.

unmuse -- that's the way I see it, and my tax lady seems to agree, but I've just had such horrible luck with the IRS that until that money is actually in my hands I'll still worry that they are gonna find some way to take it from me.
