Okay, but is it 213(d) eligible?

I mean hey, that'd be a great reason to go the HSA route!

Hi doc, I need a booster shot for personal responsibility.

You know insurance doesn't cover that?

Oh, well, nevermind.

Booster shot? It doesn't come in pill form?

In the interest of controlling anticipated costs, perhaps we could eliminate the middleman and just directly reimburse the costs of a mistress?

Guess that depends:

Does she take assignment?

(I know, a little "inside baseball," but I couldn't resist)

You mean eliminate the pimp?

eliminate the pimp

No, no, no!

That's "procurement consultant."

In Night Shift (Henry Winkler, Michael Keaton) they were called Love Brokers.

Of course let's not forget Tim Meadows as The Ladies Man on SNL. Or Velvet Jones (Eddie Murphy) either.

Wow! Lots of comments on this post. I guess we can all relate on some level. Without revealing too much, my wife and I went at one time to a marriage counselor and there's a lot of area you can cover in those sessions that include (dare I say it?) *SEX*! And, your insurance will cover it. They're not specialists but they can help your overall relationship which has got to help you in the ol' bedroom. Our sessions lead to better communication and understanding. Sorry to get too heavy, folks!

So, as a guy, you are saying you enjoy TALKING about sex?

I think you've misunderestimated his position:

As a married guy, what're his other options?

As a married guy, what're his other options?

Do I really have to enumerate. . . ?

I wouldn't say I "enjoyed" talking about sex but the talking about other things including sex helped the sex. For this married guy there aren't other options besides the one I got because the one I got is pretty great. I'll leave it there. To my original point, that choice is out there for folks to consider because insurance will cover a regular therapist or LSW. It could lead to good things if you're serious about mending your relationship.

Jerry:

It occurs to me that it may appear that we're having fun at your expense, and that is absolutely not the case. Bob and I often use the comments section to banter about issues in a way that might not "work" in posts.

Both of us are also happily married (not to each other ), and applaud your commitment to making things even better for you and your spouse.

As for the counseling, I would still question whether it should be a covered medical expense.
