I knew SOMETHING was fishy because states have various coverage mandates which preclude affordability.

There's a new pet insurance company out there that addresses alot of the shortcomings of current providers. [LINK REDACTED. We don't allow commercials here. HGS]

•Only offered to puppies and kittens under the age of one.
•Provides $20,000.00 in lifetime coverage.
•Pet parents are never penalized due to a pet aging or for making claims.
• pay 90% of all claims.
Pet parents can choose any vet and we’ll pay their standard fees.

They even cover hereditary and congenital conditions as long as they aren't pre-exsisting. Pet owners pay no deductible, but do pay for vet visits and preventive/wellness costs(shots, flea control/spaying, etc.)

Sorry-didn't mean for it to be an "ad". I've done a bit of research before enrolling our puppy with Trupanion. I've been through the grinder with a Lab that got cancer-over $5K in bills. Info I provided just showed how Trupanion addresses some of the shortcomings you discussed with other companies in your blog

This is an interesting post.
