...and I'm beginning to doubt that I'll ever get to parts 2 and 3. I had wonderful ideas: Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman, horseradish and Christmas roasts; John Donne, Dr. Atomic, and the "idiocy" of many other opera libretti; even a composer friend who on this very day solicited poems of a certain "arid kind" from all his internet friends. Words and music, so inseparable! But the more I think on it...the more muddled I become on the subject. This may not be continued for a long while...
