The property owner is claiming that he said no such thing. Ted Hayes is great. I wish more people would realize just how correct he is about the Democrats and their relationship with the black community!

Mr. Hayes IS great! I emailed him to ask him what he needs in the way of donations. I'm happy to see that his voice is being heard - and his plight is being prominently aired!

I just glad to know I'm not the only one who's noticed this. Except here in San Diego it's not Blacks as much as it is Hispanics. Still, the concept is very much the same: Those who claim to fight the hardest FOR a group are really just fighting the group. It must be sad to go through life with so much anger toward others.

I dont think that it is racism from the Dem party, but more of the same mentality that Union workers often use against those that "cross the line" during a strike. There are many black people that (ignorantly) feel as though the Democrat Party is the only group (aside from obvious pro-black groups) that is working to try and advance a favorable agenda towards black people... so when a black politician or other public figure declares themselves for the other party, they feel as though that person has betrayed the cause, their people, and their heritage.
Now, the real problem is that the Republican party is not aggressive enough in dispelling this myth of the Democrat party, and it is not focused enough on highlighting, to black America, it's high rate of minority candidates and minority sponsorship. Instead, they sit back and whine about the "race card", and about how much everyone "ignores" the advances made by the Republican party for black people.
If you only tell eachother about it, dont expect your opposition to announce it for you. They bank on a large percentage of the black vote, as do the PACs that fly under the black cause (NAACP, et al).

G is correct. Sometimes it is easier to blame the other side for our own shortcomings.

I, too, have noticed this issue and think it is indeed about time there is a conversation about it. Why isn't the ACLU assisting them? Where is Jesse Jackson's voice for these people? I think we all know the answer to that and it's tragic.

This letter has really pissed me off! Democrats across this great nation are doing anything they can to sully any good thing if it has even a hint of Republican flavor. Indeed, even if that flavor is freedom and liberty, the Democrats will drop their pants and crap on it.
Not until the abomination called the Democratic Party is split and torn asunder, existing no more, will America once again be the shining city upon the hill.

G's point is well taken. Too often we just stand by and say nothing, hoping that reasonable people will notice the difference between a party that offers opportunity for all and a party that offers handout as rewards to specific groups.
Stories like this need to be heard, so that our contrasting message can be heard more clearly.

I think the Republican Party is reaching out to black people more--Ken Mehlman has spoken about it several times in the last year. Historical trends aren't that easy to overthrow in a short time, however. Look how long it took for the South to turn Republican.
It seems to me that black Americans want to avoid being killed in a terrorist attack just as much as anybody else, and if the Democrats don't get smart to their weakness in the national security area they're going to lose support from people of all races, creeds and colors as time goes on.

Toadbat: You're such a joke! You are your own self parody.
It's the subtle racisim of YOU and your kind that perpetuates the oppression of blacks by expecting nothing more of them than complete obedience to your failed socialist screed.
You could learn a thing or two from Ted Hayes.
