-15, Lows Keep Getting LOWER!

This hurts everyone Democrats and Republicans because it scares off good people like Alito because after seeing this they will say F%ck this it's not worth it! There are no winners in this..

Gravatar Utah stole my thunder. To add to this, the only soul who would dare to consider entering in any way to serve this country, will have to have been a hermit for the last 50 years. However, then the Dems will critize that poor soul for hiding away from so-called reality for the last 50 years. Go figure.

Gravatar Just typical partisan politics BS. Alito will be confirmed.

Gravatar Clips from this confirmation hearing should be in every GOP candidate's campaign from now until... The Democrats have made a complete transition from being the opposing party to being the Party of Opposition. I’d hate to be a Democrat and hear my party referred to as “the Once Great Party,” knowing in my heart the phrase is true.

Gravatar I have very little respect for the Democrats who beat around the bush all day regarding the bigotry question. Sen. Graham was the only one to have the guts to ask it out right. Of course he already knew the answer. I agree, I don't think Alito is a bigot.

It will be egg on the Democrat's faces when the records from CAP come in and show that Alito was not an active member and theat would be why he couldn't recall at this date and time. He would remember right after he gets out of school becasue it is fresh.

I can see how he would forget, there are many organizations I have been a non-active participant in and have forgotten.

Gravatar It reminds me of what Jesus said, "Why do you try to remove the speck from your brother's eye when you don't even notice the plank in your own eye?" Especially Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy.

Gravatar Bill: That's one of my favortie verses and one I have used to describe political hyocrisy before. And of course anytime you quote the bible you just drive the moonbats NUTS!

Judy WELCOME! Glad to see another Palmetto conservative come and visit. I noticed your a fan of Reagan and Churchill, as am I. I'll be writing more on the 25 Anniversary of President Reagan's 1st Inaugural January 20, 2006. I hope you will come back and offer your thoughts on this great man.

Gravatar Great post Mike. And of course I agree with you, I also posted about it myself. These hearings are getting ridiculous and Graham was the only one with the balls to say something.

By the way, I've changed the name of my blog. Come on over when you get the chance!

Mo
aka The Wife

Gravatar Great new look on your page Moliciious. And best of luck moving into your new house!

You've got your invite to the commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of President Reagan's first inauguration. Pass it along!

Gravatar Boo hoo - turn off the faucet Mrs. Alito. This is a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. EVERYTHING is fair game. If wifey wants to cry - fine. But who cares, certainly not me. Let us instead focus on what the hearings have revealed and taught us about the nominee... oh right, thats nothing because the guy won't answer a single relevant question from anyone.

Gravatar Thanks for clearing that up Andre:

Democrats are all for anything goes when it comes to nominees, whereas Republicans used a different standard of qualifications when it came to Clinton nominees Breyer and Ginsburg.

And WHO is the responsbile governing party here?

You just made my point PERFECTLY!

Gravatar Andre would be the first to cry fowl if Alito were a lib and the mean conservatives made his wife cry. Nice job of personifying the double standard there, Andre. Darn fine job, indeed!

Gravatar I am waiting for Kennedy to fire off like his old family friend "Erra Erra have you now or have you ever been a member of the communist party"

Gravatar Are you seriously trying to claim that Clinton Administration judicial appointees were treated fairly? how many of them were bottled up in Committee under the leadership of Orrin "i look like Chiken Little" Hatch?

Gravatar Yeah.. How many Andre? And how many Bush nominees are STILL being filibustered?

And while we are at it, what was the vote on confirming Justice Ginsburg?

Let me know if you need some help.

And what was the vote on confirming Chief Justice Roberts?

Would you like to suggest that Roberts is somehow less qualified than the former Chief Counsel of the ACLU? Or do you leaders of former communist front groups to be more acceptable?

Gravatar If I remember correctly, Ruth "Buzzy" Ginsberg is for
among many of her heinus positions in favor of twelve years old as the age of consent. And doesn't Bryer favor European law rather than our
own Constitution?
Unfortunately they sailed through the process because the Republicans knew they were the sitting president's choice.
The role of the senate is advise and CONSENT.

Gravatar And may I add -this is the reason we must elect
a Republican President next time around.

Gravatar sure - I'll tell you:

68 Clinton nominees never recieved a vote in the Judiciary Committee. That can be directly attributed to chairman Hatch.

Current Bush Administration nominees who are being "filibustered": 0. In fact 98.4% of all his nominees have been approved by the senate. The deal struck during the last Congress took care of that.

Chief Justice Roberts is supremely qualified and I supported his nomination. The fact that some Senators, like Sen. Schumer opposed his nomination is simple to explain: The people of New York did not feel that he fit their idea of a Supreme Court justice - and so Schumer was bound by his commitment to the office to oppose the nomination.

Gravatar WHOA! I see you've gone beyond struggling with the meaning of the word "is" and you've leapt in the deep end of the moonbat pool.

I can guess where you got your "information" and if I really thought that any measure of objective reality would have the slightest impact on you, I could easily refute all you have said. You're welcome to peruse down the blog where all those issues have been previously discussed.

I would bother to go dig it all out just for you, but something tells me it would be a waste of time.

Oh, and thanks for completely ignoring my comparative point about Ginsburg and Roberts.... Your silence is all I need to know.

Gravatar i researched and wrote most of that "information," so i know exactly where it came from.

And i didn't ignore your point. Look at what i wrote: "Chief Justice Roberts is supremely qualified and I supported his nomination." I didnt feel like i needed to go any deepr than that.

Gravatar Mike, It's a waste of time sparring with poor Andre.
His information is obviously flawed. And he hasn't-
I was going to say mental capacity-but that's cruel.
I'll just say he has been exposed far too long to
defeatist propoganda.

Gravatar No doubt his research comes from Howard Dean... Very objective. If I weren't busy doing something productive, I'd waste my time proving him false. As it is, his arguments have been addressed here numerous times. But like most Democrats, they like to have everything spoonfed to them from cradle to grave.

Gravatar This is what I have been saying all along. The Liberals are a very mean spirited bunch. They have no valid arguments. All they do is insult, denigrate, critiaize, and engage in name calling, half truths, innuendo, and personal attacks. This is nothing new.

Gravatar hey mark - can you tell me where i insulted anoyone (i think Chicken Little is a very endearing character and I'm sure Senator Hatch would be proud to be associated with him). Dont tell me that i provide no valid argument and then fail to provide ANY arguement yourself... I have been going out of my way here to stay away from that kind of attack and have instead focused only on very simple, to-the-point arguments. Try engaging me instead of insulting me. And please provide me with a definition of "critiaize." My tiny little brain has never seen that word before.

Mike - how about a link to the blogs where this was previously covered, i'd like to check it out.

Gravatar "Chicken Little" is the Democrat's mantra "THE SKY IS FALLING"

That's why Disney had such a success with the film, all those theatre goers who thought "Fahrenheit 911" was a documentary.

You can find all the discussion on the Judiciary, including the statements which might illuminate you better in my archives from May and June...
