Why is Bennish allowed to preach his poison in the schools? Because no one is watching the public school system, and the ones who are take their kids out & put them in private schools.
Bennish should be fired and his supervisor should be fired. We all have jobs to do and Bush Hitler games are malfeasence.
We do not allow Bank Robbers to work in Banks. We do not allow pedophiles to work in daycare centers. Marxists have a worse record then either group.
If they can't fire Bennish for comparing Bush to Hitler, they should fire him for poor grammer. "I think next time I would've said Mussolini."
"I think next time..." implies a FUTURE action. "I would've said" contains the contraction of "WOULD" and "HAVE". Thus, "...I would've said Mussolini" can be read "..I would have said Mussolini" which implies a PAST action.
Mixing verb tenses is an elementary school mistake and should not be tolerated in our high schools. Mr. Bennish, and all other teachers who do not understand and use English correctly, should be removed from their positions. They simply are poor models from whom our children are learning to be even poorer citizens.
smug little prig - if this doesn't get preachers, priests, deacons, pastors and the like sermonizing politics i don't know what will! the line has been drawn - at least the government doesn't fund our houses of worship - mad as all get out!

The left-wing has found a snug home in indocrinating - er - teaching. I spend entirely too much time unteaching my kids these days. We're considering private school or even (shudder) homeschooling.
But there's real hope. My youngest girl is joining the pistol team at our local sportsman's club!

I was blown up twice in NYC and left a career as a fashion executive for a lower paying job with DHS. I have clearly done my part.

On to the subject at hand - public education! Get your kids the hell out if you can. Gaius - no shuddering about homeschooling, silly! It's really not awful at all and in fact you may be pleasantly surprised if you are able to try it. One does not have to be rich or have a college degree to do it. There are other options as well: Charter schools, Cyber Charter schools, homeschooling, UNschooling, private school. All legal.
I am not surprised at all with how the school district handled Bennish. Business as usual.

Like the above commenters I too have served my country. In my case, in government at every level from the court house to the White House. And all during that service, I have done my utmost to support the continuing excellence in our military, upon whom we rely and depend for the very freedoms and liberty we enjoy.
And what of Ronnie? Something tells me he's one of those who has done nothing for his country and done everything he could to oppose the military systems and training that keep our people safe and allow them to do their job with minimal civilian casualties.
And when it comes to free speech! What a joke!

My response Ronnie is to delete their hate filled crap and respond by pointing out that they are certainly free to set up their own blog, though I doubt anyone would visit. Furthermore, it's disgusting that at a time when our nation is at war and we daily face truly life and death issues that you people have nothing positive to contribute to the much needed debate.
And I am happy to hear what for you is likely a new found admiration for the Constitution. You might try reading it sometime. If you did, you might note that under it we elected, then re-elected President Bush to lead us and granted him the authority to act in war time.
You folks have done everything in your minuscule power to undermine that constitutional authority and the constitutional and democratic process.

I have discovered that they do snark around in their lefty lairs (or is it liars, I'm confused) and when one like Chris get's shown the door, two are sent in his place.
I have NEVER visited a conservative blog and seen anyone suggest that others go out and dump bile on liberals. First of all, it would be bad manners. And believe it or not, conservatives were raised with manners. We would never go knock on a strangers door and then proceed to spew the crap that for these folks substitutes for wisdom, experience, education and understanding.
But if they think they are entitled by "free speech" to come to my door and dump that load, I'm ready.

A lot has been said here, but I haven't noticed any Colorado commentors. Let me try to explain the phenomena.
It's a disease like alchoholism. You cannot see it outwardly in most circumstances, and the only difference is that this disease is contagious.
It's called Boulderitis, and it infects all who come near, except for those with the strongest constitutions.
The prevailing wind patterns for the Front Range are such that during the winter, more people are infected to the south and east of Boulder. I've even heard of cases as far east as Limon, and as far south as Colorado Springs. During the summer, the air is stagnant, and it gives us a "drying out" period. Coincidentally, this is also the period of time that school is out. Go figure.
I've found the best way to survive a trip to Boulder is to shove my wallet in my underwear, roll up my windows, lock my doors, and drive really fast while holding my breath.
That said, Mr. Bennish deserves our pity for his illness, not our condemnation.
