Ah yes, all those bad libs out to get good old Georgie boy and his crew.
The good thing about this law suit is that will once again remind the US of how they were misled to go to war in Iraq. The best thing is that it will show the Bush Cabal for vindictive people they are.

If the suit is so outlandish, Mike, it will play into your hands ,as the general public will recoil at such obvious grandstanding ,worse, conspicuous attempts to further undermine the war effort. Or are you worried that evidence will eradicate what is left of respect given the administration.

Was Valerie Plame Wilson even a covert spook to begin with? There's stories that she and Joe Wlson outed Plame's spook status in Washington's party circuit. Here's a story I posted on Oct 2005 that asks that very question:

As Anna points out, it will be interesting to see what evidence Plame/Wilson can bring up to support their "case."
I wonder if the rest of us couldn't file a class action suit to sue the Wilsons for defrauding the entire country and dragging us through their pack of lies and undermining national security.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. After hearing Novak speak out I think Wilson and Fitzgerald should be indicted for perjury. Talk about maligning people's names over nothing. Plus I'm reading Coulter's chapter that talks a lot about Wilson right now. Wilson LIED about EVERYTHING and yet he is still being treated like a saint in the MSM. I make a prediction--Plame gets $0 from this ridiculously frivolous lawsuit.

Aside from another desperate ploy for media attention, the Wilson's are feeding the angry mobs of lefties that believe every bit of the pack of lies they've been fed.
And as always, the famous sixteen words in Bush's State of the Union speech that started the whole Joe Wilson saga were TRUE!
"The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa .

It's frustrating that MSM has spun it so much for so long, the casual newspaper reader believes there must be at least some truth in their story.
The real crime is in "trusted sources" pushing false allegations into gospel truths. You say it enough times and people think this non-story is a story that points out further examples of the evils of the Bush Administration.

The plame and wilson saga is so typical of what's been going on in the CIA since the (so-called) anti-war left got into power. (I say "so-called" anti-war because NONE of them uttered a word when clinton was using our military for his purposes. NOT ONE FRIGGIN' WORD!) I'm speaking specifically of the administration of one of the most incompetent presidents this country ever had, jimmy the peanut farmer. How in hell does a country function when the body that's charged with intelligence gathering is running a private war against an administration that's not to their liking? carter caused problems, and still can't keep his fool mouth shut, that will be felt for years. And hoop, not for leftists such as you, plame, wilson, sheehan, peanut-boy, and many others, this war would have been over. Anyhow, back to the subject, I am happy over this civil suit. If the truth is permitted to come out, it will show just how silly and political the CIA has become.

Kev: The Plame Wilson lawsuit is more intended to feed the angry moonbats who are just sooooo mad that Karl Rove didn't get busted for this the "leak" of Plames name (he didn't even leak it, Novak got Plames name from a Who's Who).
But you are right. The lawsuit may also continue to remind the rest of us just what we are dealing with here. And that is a bunch of unelected, unaccountable, irresponsible nobodies deciding for themselves what the policy of this nation should be and waging a secret coup to get their way.

From the Headmaster:
"And as always, the famous sixteen words in Bush's State of the Union speech that started the whole Joe Wilson saga were TRUE!"
Then he provides a link, which states, among other things.....
"None of the new information suggests Iraq ever nailed down a deal to buy uranium, and the Senate report makes clear that US intelligence analysts have come to doubt whether Iraq was even trying to buy the stuff. In fact, both the White House and the CIA long ago conceded that the 16 words shouldn’t have been part of Bush’s speech."
Would you like to try again?

Ahhh Layne... doing a bit of pre-weekend spin are we?
Fact Check should have been enough for you. But might I suggest you take your research a bit further and read the British Butler Review:
http://www.butlerreview.org.uk/
and the UNANIMOUOS Senate Intell Report on Iraq Pre-War Intelligence:
http://intelligence.senate.gov/1....gov/
108301.pdf
Whether Iraq DID or DID NOT buy additional Uranium is NOT the point. Read the sixteen words more carefully:
"The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa .
The statement does not even single out Niger. And of course Wilson himself gave conflicting reports on what the actual situation in Niger was.
Layne: I realize you are desperately clinging to the hope that the "big lie" can pull the wool over enough American's eyes to convince them that Bush is a liar.
But you won't make that case on the basis of the sixteen words, nor on the word of the man who wrote the laughable book: "The Politics of Truth."

Polls show the majority of Americans have believed Bush lied or willfully exagerrated Iraq's WMDs since the first taken after release of the Kay Report, the margin slowly but surely increasing over time. Moreover, under the rules of the Geneva Convention, Bush's botched occupation qualifies as criminal negligence on a grand scale,as the occupiers are responsible for maintaining basic law and order and have failed to do so to the tune of 150,000 innocents' lives lost and bodies maimed.

The "polls show" that Democrats and defeatists like Hoopie have played the big lie over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... again and again and again and again and again and again times one thousand!
Hoopie and friends have so distorted the truth of what happened and is happening in Iraq to the point of incoherence from those of many who have neither the resources, nor desire to gain the perspective necessary to understand what is at stake.
The bottom line: We are at war, Iraq IS the central front. If we withdraw, we lose and more Americans will die as a result.
Recent unprovoked attacks against Israel should be a reminder about what kind of enemy we face. They recognize no Geneva Conventions, yet demand their protection. They seek the benefits of negotiation and compromise only to use them as springboards for renewed aggression.
The only "peace" that Hoopies and his kind represent is the peace of the grave after having your genitals cut off and stuffed in your mouth before you are beheaded.

Umm...the Administration said there was uranium, but Joe didn't find any. What's conflicting there?
And sorry...I got side-tracked on this one:
"The only 'peace' that Hoopies and his kind represent is the peace of the grave after having your genitals cut off and stuffed in your mouth before you are beheaded."
Haha. Good Lord. I laughed so hard I had to show that one around the office (we've got senses of humor out here in L.A.).
And oh, by the way, Captain America, you made a remark earlier this week questioning why College Republicans are getting chased off campus (or something along those lines).
I'm not sure if by "chased off" you mean "expelled" for being right-wing (doubtful), but with recruitment numbers down, shouldn't College Republican be oxy-moronic? I mean, like you said, who are we to question the patriotism of the ones who voted for the current Administration?
So why go off on these rants on so-called "treasonous moonbats" when there's college-age, cowardly "chicken hawks" adamantly supporting a war they won't fight? Am I missing something (besides my gentials which have just been stuffed in my mouth)? Who's really being defeatist here?

Furthermore, Joe is lying.
"When the IAEA revealed in March of 2003 that the U.S. was in possession of forged documents pertaining to Niger uranium sales to Iraq, Wilson told several reporters that the phony documents were behind the CIA s sending him to Niger, and that during his trip he had identified the documents as forgeries. He peddled this tale to Kristof at the New York Times, Pincus at the Washington Post, and to Judis and Ackerman at The New Republic.
Wilson s claim to having expose the phony document was itself exposed as phony by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence s 2004 Report on Pre-War Intelligence, which noted that the forged documents had not come into U.S. hands until October of 2002, eight months after Wilson s Niger trip. (SSCI report, part II, section B, Search misspoken .)"
Again....splitting my comment up...

Also, this might be news to you:
"In March, 2003, when U.S. tanks rolled into Iraq, 500 tons of yellow cake uranium was found at the Iraqi nuclear research center of al-Tuwaitha. This included 1.8 tons of partly enriched uranium. On June 23, 2004, the U.S. military, working with the U.S. Department of Energy removed this material to the US where is held at an unnamed Department of Energy facility."
(we've got senses of humor out here in L.A.).
As another resident of Los Angeles, I can tell you that "common" sense, is what my liberal Leftcoastists are sorely lacking.
but with recruitment numbers down,
Not entirely accurate. Do more research. Also, what do you make of the re-enlistment rates? And waiting lists for those trying to get into Iraq?
So why go off on these rants on so-called "treasonous moonbats" when there's college-age, cowardly "chicken hawks" adamantly supporting a war they won't fight?
As Skye would tell you, if you are so morally opposed to this war, why didn't you go over to Iraq an cast yourself out there as a human shield? And as one Iraq War veteran stated on his blog, "the chicken-hawk argument is designed merely to shut down debate". Patriotic Americans serve in a variety of ways. Not everyone is fit to be out on the frontlines, as combat soldiers. Everyone can have a role in service to winning this war. The majority of soldiers never even fire a weapon at an enemy, during their entire careers. Something like only 1% actually participate in combat. Would you belittle the military service of those who aren't over in Iraq and Afghanistan? Or who are in support positions, rather than pulling combat duty? Do you think we should have police officers who fight crime and protect society? Why should they be out there fighting crime and risking themselves so that your neighborhood can feel safe? Why don't you become a police officer? Risk your own life for a change. Why should others fight your city's fires for you? LA is your city....why don't you pick up a fire extinguisher and fight your own damn fires? Who are you to criticize the President? Have you ever thought of running for office? How can you comment on anything, without firsthand experience, walking in their shoes, if we go by your logic and manner of thinking? You see how foolish and illogical your chickenhawk argument is? It just doesn't fly.
And even if we were too much the coward to place ourselves in danger, so what? Those who are cowards yet believe that evil terrorists must be fought, are the ones who are also most appreciative that there are "rough men" amongst us- the sheepdogs- who serve and sacrifice on behalf of the rest of us who don't. These so-called "cowards" are the same ones who support and love the troops and recognize just how vital and special soldiers are.

That's ok Utah... doesn't hurt to repeat that both Plame and her husband have been seeking the spotlight.
And thanks Wordsmith for that considered response to Layne.
You noticed that Layne just refuses to see anything but the view of the world he prefers. After swallowing the big lie that Wilson and company have been telling for so many years now, I can well imagine it would be difficult to accept the reality that the man is a charlatan of the first order.
So, of course Layne decides to launch on another of the tired lefty screeds we've all heard about a thousand times by now. Nothing new there, and nothing substantive either.
Living in la la land among those who earn their living play acting must make the reality challenged among us even more susceptible to the modes of thinking that Layne seems to think passes for truth.
And for the record, you cannot beat the Hawaii Reporter's quick read wrap up of the Wilson scandal:
http://www.hawaiireporter.com/st...88-
b566a2882f8a
Though for those who wish a more detailed examination of each statement Wilson made regarding the facts of the story, Weekly Standard has a good one:

I wonder if Layne will be passing those articles around the office? Give it a try Layne.

The White House never did retract the statement itself; only that it might not have risen to the level of inclusion in a Presidential State of the Union Address. But there were several areas of the White House that also didn't agree with making that subsequent statement.

My guess, as a non-legal mind, is that this suit gets tossed by the court. And even if a trial takes place, it will just be time and money wasted in order to get to a “not guilty” verdict.
It was said earlier, but I would like to restate the obvious. The complaint is that she was put in the public’s eye, the obvious way to counter this and protect themselves and their children… do magazine covers, file lawsuits, and speak at the National Press Club. Way to keep on the down-low.
They better not bitch about how the defense in the case will dig up every interview and job history relevant to this case. They are using this as a tactic to get subpoenas for depositions and sell books.
I sure as hell hope I don’t hear the ranting of the left over how “they are going after them.” They are suing, so to all those on the left you better expect guns to be blazing… NOT SO FAST, don’t blame the right on this one. It was the Plame/Wilson’s that brought further investigation into their past up this time. You can send all the hate mail and non-sense ranting to them.
PS- Remember Fitzgerald found no evidence of a leak, not even Rove. Libby while indicted, it is for perjury… which to my recollection is ok. I argue the “Clinton Precedent.” If Clinton ain't in jail, nor should libby be. Both or none. lol

Well not to drag the whole story back up again. After all, I have multiple posts on it.
But just to point out that Ms. "I'm all concerned about my career" made donations to Democrats using her official CIA cover. And every contribution is a public record, easily accessed by anyone with a computer. Not exactly what you would do if you were covert or worried about your identity becoming public.
It's so abundantly clear that A. Joe Wilson lied about his trip to Niger and B. He and his wife are making money off of his book sale and enjoying the publicity they so actively seek.
Meanwhile, the nation's national security and the effectiveness and loyalty of the CIA are called into question by their actions.

I for one think this is fantastic. This is exactly the kind of stuff that keeps the Democrats from power. The regular public recoils from such "jackassery". And Wilson and Plame are experts at that.
You know, an unintended consequence from all this might be Wilson and Plame getting charged with crimes. Wilson leaked callsified information in his column and Plame leaked classified information to Wilson. This has been proven if you read the testiomony to Congress. The commission inestigating the matter asked Wilson if he would like to rephrase his testimony after he used classified information to "prove" his points. The only thing was it was classified information he was not supposed to know.
Yes, yes, I welcome this. It will show the world what idiots these two traitors are.
Maybe they could get a cameo from Cindy Sheehan to ice the cake.
