I can't believe that Congress, namely Pelosi and Reid, would allow us to spend $1.7 billion a day in oil imports, when we could produce that at home.
It should be quite evident by now that the Democrats, and liberals in general, are not about freedom of expression, democracy or letting votes dictate the policy of this government or the will of the people. They are about power. They want to run the country as they see fit, because they are, after all, smarter and better than the rest of us. If you don't believe this, even the Washington Post is calling for a vote in the House on this issue.
Anyone who thinks gas will ever get down to $2.10 again, should be kicked out of office.
The only possibility of this happening is if we vote for a Democrat who will balance the budget and strengthen the value of the American Dollar. Oil is mainly sold in dollars (we invaded Iraq to keep it that way). If they value of the dollar vs. the Euro or any other currency is in the toilet, Americans will pay more. Erase the debt, strenghten the dollar, lower the cost of oil.
And I didn't notice a time line for that $2.10.Maybe it should say: Gas $2.10 by 3010.
And most of all, stop voting for Texas oil men with ties to the Saudi Royal Family.
Democrats have said over and over again that they'd like to see gas prices go to at least $5 a gallon. And if the free market won't make that happen, they are willing to raise gas taxes to do it.
Anyone who thinks Toadbat has a clue hasn't got a clue either.
The insane part of this is that they block the vote. Up or down, we should at least see a vote on these energy plans. That way, we can know where our congressmen stand so we can decide on whether or not they should be reelected.

Democrats cater to their constituency. People like Toad734 who haven't a clue about this kind of stuff. Toad doesn't mind paying $5.00 a gallon if it means he can force us to ride our bikes to work, hauling our 4 children on the back along with backpacks for school and lunch bags.
We can also ride our bikes and tiny electric cars to Hawaii when we want to go on vacation with our families because without fossil fuels we won't have airplanes any more.
That is what the libs want. They want us to suffer so that we quit using fossil fuels, then the airplanes will be grounded and we won't be able to travel. Think about how many more years it will take for them to come up with an airplane that runs on electricity or bio fuels. Until then they will be grounded. BUT the libs think that by not doing anything they are punishing us evil fossil fuel users and forcing us to buy two seater electric cars and hybrids that don't even pay for themselves until about 10 years of useage.
What about our military and the airplanes we use to help defend us? What about the fossil fuel derivitives we use to make a lot of the products we use today??
Of course, maybe we can go back to the horse and buggies for big families, but then again you would have Peta on your back saying it is abuse some how to the horses and the libs have to cater to Peta as well.
That graph Mike has is excellent. The GOP has a solution, the libs have nothing but bad liberal ideas that NEVER WORK. Look at where we are at today and it is because the libs refused to drill when Bush was urging them to allow it. This gas crisis is a stark reminder of how liberalism fails.

Not spending 2 trillion in useless wars such as Iraq, not paying Blackwater 6x the amount we pay a US soldier to do the same job, not give away billions of dollars of tax payer money to big, profitable oil companies, raise taxes on dead rich people, close tax loopholes for rich companies, create more jobs which will generate a stronger consumer base.

The GOP solution is let Exxon do what they want, forgive their responsibility for the Valdez disaster and take your tax money and give it to Exxon so they don't have to dip into their 40 billion in profits when they search for more oil to sell. That and invade any country which may decide to quit selling Exxon its oil in US dollars.
