He is proving to be a detriment to our party. I had to do a post on it today and strongly recommended my readers over here. Good post.

BTW, I'm grateful that Bob Dole is getting involved. Maybe he can sway some of the voters in Iowa, and SC.

I think Huckabee is not ready for Prime Time. For those who support Huckabee because he is a Christian, better look long and hard at what jesus juice he swills to make sure it is not of the lotus. Or more plainly, shake the sand from your sandals when you leave the Huckabee for President tent.

I personally would include none but Christian, but if you are going to include Hanukkah in your greetings, you should also include the seasonal Islamic holidays, or admit your bigotry.

Screw Hoople Head he probably broke his dreidl...LOL
Huckabee was never anything other than a push by the press, sure the one issue wacks on our side are as bad as the issue wacks on the left. The abortion issue will never win or lose an election no matter how much the press would like it too.
Romney, Rudy, or Fred whoever is left standing after Feb 5th
McCain and the Huckster are only surging in we little minds of the press

Mike, lets not throw out the bath water along with the screaming baby hoop.
I am with Wordsmith in regards to Ramadan and Eid, I do have friendships with Muslims whom I like. Its just like the IRA buggers ruin everything Irish for the rest of us who have green in our blood. Erin go bragh!
As a southerner when I get fuzzy due to sleep deprevation if you say Kwanza I might hear Kudzu, so be warned.

Huckabee was a blip, is a blip, and will very soon no longer be a blip. He can't last much longer in this primary run. I just hope his advisors don't migrate over to Thompson's camp like Tancredo's people did.

Mike, LOL.
Unfortunately when you use words like Roundup all they think about is the dreaded stiffling of free speech by the BushHalliburtonCheney cabal for world domination... while ignoring the real Cuban gulags and their like.
Ones like Huckabee make ones like Perot seem heavyweights. Too bad Huckabee doesn't have someone on staff wondering aloud 'why should I be here?'

There's something phoney about Huckabee. I've thought so from the first time I heard him speak (on TV, not in person).
Surely he won't make the Republican ticket. Surely. At least, I hope he doesn't.

Oh Mike, you do allow them full expression of their feelings, and if they have them thoughts, until they go overboard. Unfortunately intellectual garbage, no matter how cloaked in eau d'relevance, still stinks like rotting cabbage left on the street to spoil.
Try Communism? Nyet, 100+ million butchered. Try Fascism? Nein, about 60 million dead. Islamic Fascism? Wrong again, ask those interred in the Hindu Kush about the joys of convert or die Islam.

Anna: These moonbats don't know enough about the history of the 20th Century, let alone the history of Islam, to realize just how good they have it in the good ole U-S-A.
No doubt the product of public schools, they've had their pea brains soaked in anti-American multicultural claptrap since Kindergarten.
Oh well, at least we can enjoy making fun of their transparent ignorance and delusions.

It's going to be an interesting next couple of weeks. If Pakistan stays on the front pages, I think we'll see a move in both parties towards those with more background in foreign policy and away from Huckabee on the GOP side and possibly away a bit from Obama on the Dem side. I'm imagining McCain and Giuliani pick up votes if Pakistan stays front and center over the days ahead. Do you agree?

Who are you supporting in the Dem SC primary? Got any Iowa Dem predictions?

I was leaning to Obama but am thinking about an admittedly quixotic vote for Biden now. No predictions on Iowa, though I'd love to see Hillary fall to third. (Check back with me if this ends up a McCain-Hillary race, you might be surprised).
Your favorite newspaper, the NYT, has a story today that says, "What if Iowa decides nothing for Democrats?" as if that would be a problematic thing. Why the heck SHOULD Iowa decide anything for either party? This whole primary/caucus system is wacky in my opinion and has gotten more so than ever. As a SC person, I'm glad to have early say-so in the process, but I don't really believe that candidates should be entirely eliminated simply because Iowans or New Hampshire-ites don't like them much.
Actually, if Giuliani's strategy does pay off, i.e., he loses fairly badly in the early small primaries but then does come back to win later bigger primaries and the nomination, I'll tip my hat to him for helping destroy the outsized importance of Iowa and NH to the process.
Happy New Year to all.

I've lost a lot of respect for Biden. Sometimes it seems he just doens't know when to keep his mouth shut.
As for Iowa and New Hampshire deciding anything, it's a good thing that at least some of the smaller states get to exercise some early influence over this process. Otherwise, we'd all be living according to rules set in New York, California.... or TEXAS!
I'd like to see Hillary lose in Iowa just for the fun of it.
I'm not going to make any predictions for the GOP Iowa decision. Romney would be better than Huckabee, but then that makes Romney unstoppable in New Hampshire and so on.
It might make this whole mess more interesting if there was no clear winner with momentum on both sides in Iowa and have that continue in New Hampshire making South Carolina all the more important.

Why the heck SHOULD Iowa decide anything for either party?
It doesn't necessarily do so, but it does give momentum and media-driven momentum. Didn't Reagan and Bill Clinton lose Iowa when they ran?
