My thinking is that they have never heard of pulling an ox out of a mire. Where is the spirit of the "law"?
If we only had had animal rights activists 50 years ago and we would not have had that damned Smokey Bear constantly telling us, "Only you can prvent forest fires."
The culture of death is now reaching out to touch the very creatures that won them some semblence of respectability and authority. Killing human babies had some support in the Supreme Court and the misplaced compassionate. But killing cute, cuddly, fuzzy baby polar bears isn't going to win them any friends amongst the grade school set - a group with an inordinate amount of influence over the old folk.
Awww I want that little Polar Bear Cub. But then again they grow into big Polar Bears, and I promised myself after my pig got murdered and my dogs died that when my cat goes no more animals for me :-(

Animal rights people are only satisfied when it's animals they want to protect but putting a perfectly good Polar Bear down just because Mom doesnt want to have anything to do with it is insane.

Where are PETA and these Animal Right's organizations when the Canadians are clubing baby seals to death every year?
I heard last night that the outcry over killing this cub has been so great that Knut will be allowed to live.
Anybody who could destroy this beautiful animal is heartless!
The zoo that has him has said they are going to keep him.
There is just no good reason to kill him for his own sake.
We have a similar situation in the Philadelphia zoo. The animal loonies say that the three african and one Indian elephants at our zoo are being mistreated because they don't have enogh room to go stomp on things. They have been there a long time and the children love them as do most of the adults. There has never been a problem raising money for projects at the zoo but the animal zealots eyes are spinning out of their heads and holding everyone hostage with their tactics not unlike the peace loonaticks.
Zookeepers and legitimate caretakers are scared to death of these butt-for-brains people because the zoo relies on contributions and visitation for money to pay for upkeep and most regular people do not want to come into contact with these insane people whether it is to visit the zoo or donate money. When are Americans going to stand up and say ENOUGH!!! We must restore sanity and stop the intimidation by a few loudmouth, misguided and insane vocal minority!!!
