It also contains $100 million for the two major political parties’ 2008 presidential conventions. Political parties are not part of the Constitution or the government. No party should be using tax mony to pay for private club nominating conventions. Each party should pay their own way.

Is anyone surprised the DNC would sell out the US Troops and the citizens of Iraq for the price of spinach?

I am proud of my Senator Kit Bond for saying this about the bill as it passed in the Senate:
"I am disappointed that my Democratic colleagues have set the stage for a veto of this critical bill. Earlier this month the Senate voted to give General Patraeus’ plan for a new direction in Iraq a chance. Unfortunately, today’s vote is a blow to these efforts. The bill to fund our warfighters has been used to undercut General Patraeus at this crucial time," Bond said in a release.
"Wars cannot be run from the halls of Congress 10,000 miles away from the war zone. I am frustrated that my fellow Senators feel they are better qualified to make these decisions than our soldiers, officers, and commanders in the field who are daily risking their lives to bring peace and security to Iraq."

This bill does support the troop; it would fore them to be withdrawn. The American people want it, the congress wants it only Premier Bush in his American Empire is opposed to it. Good thing he has veto powers. Isn't Democracy great? Who cares what the people or their elected representative’s want; Halliburton, its subsidiaries and Exxon still have money to be made.

Toad, that's a sick viewpoint. The ones who stand to profit from America's premature withdrawal are America's enemies.

You'd probably be surprised by the results of a poll that asked people WHY they are aggrivated with the war.
One was done about a year back, and it seems that the people are annoyed about the PC rules of engagement. They want our soldier to be able to FIGHT, not lollygag with rules of engagement that can land them in jail with one misstep while they're under pressure. This agrees with Republican annoyances, and it ALSO agrees with the annoyances expressed by many Democrats I know.
Ever since then, the Lib polling companies have not DARED to ask people WHAT they disagree with on the war. They just ask a generic question like, "Do you think the war is going in the right direction?"
There are MANY directions completely different from pullout. According to last year's poll, most want our troops to be able to fight more aggressively. "More aggressively" could manifest in many ways, but that's what the people who are objecting to the war are saying they want.
The Surge answers that objection for many of us. So far, violence in Baghdad has been cut in half, and only 2/5 of the Surge troops have even arrived!
So let's give war a chance, huh?

If our reps in Congress haven't the stones to hold to their own principles ... oh, hell. They never have and never will. Cowards!

I haven't posted President Bush's statement yesterday where he cited the blog "Iraq the Model" (though not by name) and their on the scene reports about conditions improving in Baghdad.
It's a shame our lamestream media folks can't go out and take a look around for themselves. But I suppose they're watching the news in the United States and think it's just too dangerous.

If the previous do-nothing Republican congress had bestirred itself to do a bit of the heavy lifting required to pass a budget the Demos wouldn't have had to clean up that mess as well.

Hmmm. Didn't realize the term was unfamiliar to you.
