Come on, Mike - you KNOW that EVERYTHING is Bush's fault...
The ignorance that comes with this kind of hatred is unbelieveable... I'm sure your crazies will prove my point shortly.

The ignorance on the BDS left is especially Bush's fault.

What a surprise.
A lefty version of Jerry Falwell & Pat Robertson.
Though to be fair Feldman was attempting humor. That it isn't very funny is beside the point.
The other two believe(d) their own nonsense regarding 'God's wrath' targeted at their political opponents.

Humor hunh? Well, a lot of people laughed at Falwell when he made his remarks.
What I find "funny" is that you would attempt to excuse Feldman with your lame moral equivalence.

On God's wrath... according to His word, it's constantly being poured out on all unrighteousness... but to pinpoint a hurricane, or natural disaster, is trying to read the mind of God.
The better focus is to realize that while He does pour out His wrath on all unrighteousness, He also pours out mercy and grace... and in my case, my cup overfloweth.

The blame Bushers will always find a way.
I agree with your assessment that this guy was on his way to the dark side well before the statement.
The force was definatly not with him

Mike lurched into his favorite topic yet again:
What I find "funny" is that you would attempt to excuse Feldman with your lame moral equivalence.
I didn't excuse it Mike I looked at his website where he described his work as 'satire'.
Still the dig at Bush isn't what is unfunny about the remark.
It's finding a joke in the tragedy the people in the path of the storm have suffered.
But you knew that right?

Like you care anymore about the suffering of poor Mexicans caught in the storm than you do for the suffering of poor Iraqis caught in the grip of Al Queda, or before that, Saddam.
Yeah... you're compassionate Artie.

The humour defense again? Thought that got defenstrated when Kerry tried it?
Looking back at the models from Friday Aug 17th, 2007 for Hurricane Dean. At 11AM Eastern Dean had just transited through the Lesser Antilles. NHC 3 day forcast predicted Dean cutting straight through Jamaica and in the 5 day forcecast or today it would still be in the Gulf traveling to approx 70 miles south of Brownsville, TX sometime Thursday. But Dean took several jogs directly west which rendered the Aug 17 3 and 5 day forecasts incorrect as it traveled south of Jamaica, missed Grand Cayman, and struck close to the Belize border.
And anyone who looks at a five day forecase and then claims a storm will take an extreme turn to the north is not someone you should trust with your investment portfolio because he obviously makes deductive leaps of imagination to suit his own world view.

Mike strove for the high ground and, as usual, missed:
Like you care anymore about the suffering of poor Mexicans caught in the storm than you do for the suffering of poor Iraqis caught in the grip of Al Queda, or before that, Saddam.
Oh boo hoo.
Spare me the crocodile tears for the Iraqis 'caught in the grip' of Saddam.
Your hero RR had no problem doing business with Saddam and it wasn't exactly a secret Hussein was a tyrant.
Next please.

Why do you think that was, Arthur? That we "did business" with Saddam, at the time?

The mistaken idea that the enemy of an enemy is a friend, if ya ask me... When viewed in retrospect, shifting political winds, especially in the ME, tend toward such alliances coming back & taking a nice bite out of America's collective ass...

Mike typed:

I provided the reason Mike. Yet another failure of our folks in Washington (any number of which bright young things probably went to Columbia) failing once again in their global political machinations.
respac is right. The old enemy of an enemy is my friend thing biting us in the ass once again.

I believe respac is wrong. Which consequently makes you wrong as well, arthur.
The mistake is in seeking utopian purity. Jimmy Carter made a horrible blunder in not supporting the Shah of Iran, because the Shah did not live up to Carter's moral standards. The Shah was deeply pro-American, loyal, and an important ally in the heart of the Middle East. By not supporting a "bad" dictator, we enabled an even more ruthless regime in the form of Khomeini and a theocratic Iran to attain power. Carter's sanctimonious naivete gave rise to one half of the current Islamic militant problem we face today. Subsequently, because of it, we found ourselves having to gamble with the hand that Carter left us with, and side with Saddam against an anti-American, Soviet-backed Iran. This is no different than our alliance with Stalin against Hitler.

"The mistake is in seeking utopian purity. Jimmy Carter made a horrible blunder in not supporting the Shah of Iran."
Oh, but I'm sure Repsac and his accomplice Negative Neville will have some fine way of weasel wording around that one too.
Neither of them, nor the ilk with which they associate themselves has EVER come up with ONE good idea on how to deal with ANY of these problems.
They just fight to undermine every single plan put forward by anyone else. And if they succeed in quashing any possible success they claim they were right all along.
They tried the same thing with Reagan and they were so very, VERY wrong. Too bad they never learn.
Either they should come up with some practical, effective alternatives or just shut the hell up and let the adults handle things.
