DING DING DING DING DING!!!!! -13.... How High can this go???

Isn't this EXCITING??? I AM TOTALLY IN A EUPHORIC STATE NOW!!
McCain has just totally turned things around and will have the FULL SUPPORT of his base. We are all going to be on fire now. Brilliant pick!

Gravatar McCain just scored a homerun!! I am ecstatic!! She was my favorite after J.C. Watts but I had given up on him picking her. Kudos to McCain's campaign for keeping this such a secret. Not only will I vote for him now but I may even campaign for him. I just boarded the straight talk express!!!

Gravatar It's pretty clear from both Rivka and Dee's comments that the choice of Sara Palin has energized the GOP as we head into our convention.

A quick peak at conservative opinion echoes those sentiments above.

A great choice!

Gravatar I cant wait for that Palin, Biden debate...It will be like taking candy from a baby. And yes, talk about no experience...that's Palin.

Let's face it, McCain's first wife was a model (until she got deformed and fat after a car wreck, thats why he divorced her), his second wife was a cheerleader and now his VP pick was almost Miss Alaska. Are we starting to see a pattern here?

I wonder if it's possible for him to cheat on her too. Like, will he choose a second running mate behind closed doors?

Gravatar Oh and don't expect much from the Hillary supporters, this chick is a pro-life gun nut who think a woman’s uterus should just be a baby basket.

Gravatar Are you just bitter or scared, Toad?

This was possibly the best choice McCain could have made. Considering the reaction of those who, up to this point, really didn't care if McCain won or lost, you should be afraid. Even I was impressed.

We still haven't seen McCain's convention bounce yet. The race really just got interesting.

Gravatar O Toad, you speak with no real thought or understanding.

This woman took on the likes of Biden in Alaska and handled them fine. She will do great against Biden. He doesn't have much to stand on at all.

As for your experience tripe, she has far more executive experience than Obama does. So take it elsewhere.

All the Dems are saying this pick is a disaster, it is, for them.

Gravatar Scared? Of the "we don't know dick about the economy" team?? Hardley. This is Ferraro/Dan Quayle part 2. I don't know how an Alaskan fisherman / Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska is qualified to be president when bucket of bones kills over. Think about that for a minute, he will be 72 when he takes office. If he gets elected to two tems we will reach his 80th birthday if he reaches his 80th birthday. The average life span for an American male is what, 74 years old?

Of course it could give McCain access to more oil money / lobbyists.

And Mike:

I recall McCain flat out telling you personally, or so you say, not to vote for him. Why are you campaigning for someone who doesn't want your vote?

Gravatar Spot on, Mike! She's a great choice. If you want change, Alaska, not Chicago or New Jersey, is the place to go. Especially getting 80% approval rating. Compare that to the 70+% disapproval rating of Congress.

Gravatar Where's her American flag lapel pin?

Doesn't she love America?

Gravatar Need a pair of glasses "Arthur?"

I would think someone who profits by the fruits of others in the visual arts would be more aware.

Gravatar Thanks Mike!

The photo you posted at the top of this thread showed her sans American flag lapel pin and I couldn't help thinking 'how could the Republicans nominate a woman who hates America so?'

Glad to have that cleared up.

Though you have to wonder. If she really loved America would't she have more than one pin?

Gravatar "Arthur:" Where's your flag pin? Or should I ask, which flag is on it?

Gravatar I'll need to do some research on Palin. But from what I've gleaned over the past few hours, she seems to be a true conservative!

Gravatar She's everything Obama pretends to be except for Liberal. She's for real.

Gravatar Arthur has UN flag pin signed by George Soros.

Gravatar Well at least vinegar Joe knows enough to wear a Flag pin. Hmmmm, the 50% American ticket?

Gravatar I knew her when she was the mayor of Wasilla. My first impression was that she was one tough cookie.

Gravatar .
This is going to be fun. History will be made, one way or another, and it looks more likely now that it will be the right history.

Even more Hillary supporters will go for McCain now. Obama is no longer a near certainty. Heaven forbid something happens to McCain, but I believe Palin would rise to the occasion. She has the right attitude. Everyone knows Obama is NOT ready for POTUS, Palin is only for the VP. Look at Dan Quayle.

YEY SARAH PALIN! YEY John McCain! Great pick! The 1st woman for the GOP VP? SCORE!

She's conservative! SCORE! She's a Governor! SCORE! She's pro-drilling! She's a hunter! SCORE! She's a hockey Mom and played basketball in school! SCORE! She's pro-life! And she respects women! Gravatar I like Sarah Palin because she is one of the first genuine, 100% American, hardworking, intelligent and real politicians I get the privilege of casting a vote for. Thank you, John McCain.

Gravatar I'm like JAZZED!

TO SARAH "CHEERS!"

Gravatar Did the original 'Ticket for America', first broadcast in 1970, star Ted Knight and Stefanie Powers?

The re-casting with Palin and McSame looks terrific!

Gravatar I am pleased with Sarah Palin as VP nominee. From the little I have learned of her, I suspect she will do a fine job sitting in the Senate President chair and attending state funerals.

No one, especially from our side of the great divide, should be supporting Palin just because she's a woman. That is the same as supporting Obama because he's black. That kind of thinking is baseless and flawed.

Palin has the qualities for the Vice-Presidency. She's had executive experiance and cannot be cowed easily. She values loyalty and honesty. She values life. Her sex has nothing to do with the task we are asking her to undertake.

If Obama was the Dem VP nominee, I would have no objection. As the nominee for President, he has not the temperment, the judgement, nor the experience for the position. His skin color has nothing to do with the task he is being asked to undertake.

Sex and color are irrelevant. Experience and charactor for the respective offices are very relevant.
