-15, Lows Keep Getting LOWER!

Gravatar They both get "F"s unlike the more progressive Russian parliament.

Let's get the US Congress to emulate
the Iraqi even more! Let's confine it to Capitol Hill -like the Green Zone
(only peacefully of course) and make half of the members leave the country.

Let's allow only 45-50% to attend any one particular full Congrssional meeting, the average in Iraq. And make
Jim Boehner and his ilk hire a private militia to protect him rather than use taxpayer money via actual
government employees like the Capitol police and Secret Service.

Yeah Miller-that's the ticket!

Gravatar Is this you Hoopturd?

Gravatar It is actually less than one month that the full surge is in place. The last troops arrived on June 15th, so it hasn't even been a full month and they have already made some progress on 12 of the 18 benchmarks. And like the President said and you relayed, most of the ones missed are political which will always follow security progress which is going great.

Gravatar http://www.iraqslogger.com/ index...e_Missing_Point

More seriously Miller-US ambassador to Saudi Arabia here points out benchmarks are irrrelevant as Iraq government has no authority in the eyes of its citizens due in large measure to its collaboration with the
US occupier.

Freedom to Lie says this is propaganda and in reality his chickenhawk clucking that the new Iraqi government is a shining success is true.

I say send him to Iraq and make him walk freely in Baghdad's streets as an idenetified American for his punishment.

Gravatar I say we send Hoopturd to Iraq and see if Al Queda won't behead him for despite the fact that he is such a good propaganda tool!

Cajun: Don't know if you saw Senator Levin this week saying "The surge is over."

Funny how we always have to define our terms with people who still can't figure out the "meaning of the word is."

And, I'll challenge every negative no nothing troll to document at least ONE example of where he has exulted in GOOD NEWS from Iraq.

Unless they can do that, they have no business AT ALL splitting hairs over this INTERIM report.

Gravatar Boy they talk a good game 'ol Democrats do when they are running for office but in the end, empty promises.

How can they possibly get anything done when they have to have needless, contant, endless, investigation after investigation, and wasting taxpayer's money?

Gravatar From AP piece highliting the GOP!
Lugar legislation to save face (retreat)in Iraq just out:

"At the Pentagon, meanwhile, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters that the number of battle-ready Iraqi battalions able to fight on their own has dropped to a half-dozen from 10 in recent months despite heightened American training efforts"

Keep bragging about all those trainee
successes, Freedom To Spin.

Gravatar What a wonderful country you admire Ken. It seems the Rodina gets to feeling better by picking on smaller countries like Estonia and thwarting the will of the UN when it comes to Kosovo.

Apparatchik pizdi. See Mike I can curse when the mood strikes.

Gravatar Mike I may have to steal that Dem list, you did forget their one major achievment 300 congressional investigations and hearings launched and not a single crime uncovered...LOL

Gravatar Anna: Don't hold back. Let it out!

Troll: Actually, didn't Pelosi promise that they WOULDN'T have all those investigations?

Gravatar And, I'll challenge every negative no nothing troll to document at least ONE example of where he has exulted in GOOD NEWS from Iraq.

BAH HAH HA HA!!!!

I dare you to produce any "good news" from Iraq. And Spc. Smith getting his wisdom teeth pulled by an Iraqi dentist doesn't count. NOT ONE BENCHMARK MET. NOT ONE. Just a lot of "we're making progress" bla bla song and dance with nothing to prove your claims. Brilliant Post!

Gravatar Thanks for proving my point El So Slow.

You're hardly in a position to make an objective appraisal of the situation.

As for "NOT ONE BENCHMARK MET. NOT ONE" you just proved you're an ignorant defeatist fool.

Gravatar The Iraqi government achieved a solid 8 out of 18.

From the data in your post, I count 18 benchmarks...none labeled 'Assessment: Achieved!'

Oh, you misspelled all the "Assesment:" in your congressional bla bla misconceptions.

Gravatar Try looking at the detailed report dip doodle.

Surprised you can read.

Gravatar dip doodle

Good one!

Gravatar Mike,
Interesting comparison. Won't hear it in the msm, of course.

Gravatar Ken, as usual you have little of substance to offer. My statement still stands that the Iraqi forces have trained over 350,000 security forces. I never said that they controlled their own battle space WITHOUT American support. That’s what those statistics mean. If this is a question of your reading comprehension then I understand. I'm not even being sarcastic, it happens to everyone.

The number of Iraqi army forces that operate on their own without any U.S. help was very small. Originally amounting to about 8,000 troops - now it has dropped to 4,800, since the number is so small to begin with that really doesn’t make much of a difference at this stage. All 350,000 security forces are armed, trained and engaged against terrorists. They operate in the lead or with U.S. backup, but not independently. The fact remains that the Iraqi government has 350,000 fighters compared to the insurgents who are no more than 5% of the size (not including U.S. troops). I shouldn’t be called a liar for stating facts. That is quite unfair.

Gravatar Our Congress would probably score only about 4 or 5 of those benchmarks at best.

And thats sad because the country of Iraq hasnt had a stable government since the 80s. At least they have an excuse after 3 major wars, over a decade of sanctions and a terrorist insurgency that thinks freedom fighting involves blowing up power lines and oil pipes.

Whats the Democrats' excuse?

Gravatar http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5971930/

Bullcrap Freedom To Lie-as this MSNBC story shows, the Shia government opposes Petraueus' strategy of arming Sunnis to fight alQaeda & accuses the US troops of widespread brutality--so the friends you believe are successes are the enemy. (Your enemy more than mine.)

and as www.robertdreyfuss.com

posts today show, you've got a whole heapa liabilties comin' at ya from every angle.

Gravatar http://robertdreyfuss.com/blog/

trouble trouble trouble...fold
em losers!

Gravatar Both sides,Sunni and Shia, using US naeivete' and imperialism to gain as much leverage over the other as possible, while fighting and planning to fight further the US occupation. And of course the state terroristic "sanctions" Freedom to Spin cites as providing Iraqis an excuse for an unstable government (nonethless aligned with Iran, as the Sunnis charge)were another device of corrupt American imperialism which killed far more than the terrorist insurgency.

Gravatar Both Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich are being shut out of the Presidential election debate process.

Perhaps KKK would like to examine those benchmarks again and see how many his allies in loony left land support for democracy in this country?

Gravatar "In eastern Baghdad, the Interior Ministry said five guards manning towers around the ministry had been killed in an insurgent attack with rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns. Nine guards were wounded. The compound is near the Finance Ministry headquarters, from which five Britons were abducted two months ago by kidnappers posing as government officials and police officers.

Not to mention a senior Iraqi Army officer killed in mortarfire on the Green Zone yesterday. How about benchmarks establishing the Iraqi government capability to protect its own fortress, eh Freedom to Brag About "Trainees?"

Gravatar totally irrelevant Hoopturd!

Gravatar http://www.abcnews.go.com/Intern...tory? id=3377903

Oh, you wanted me to comment on the corrupt election process?

Miller-you better hurry up and write that post on Pakistan you trying to figure out a good way to spin before posting. You might not have much more time.

Gravatar irrelevant.

Gravatar Excellent post, love the cartoon. It reminds me of something Rush said about all of this on Thursday.

Gravatar Rush was on a roll for sure when he talked about this:

Gravatar Ken boldy broadcasted his latest beheading video;

“Bullcrap Freedom To Lie-as this MSNBC story shows, the Shia government opposes Petraueus' strategy of arming Sunnis to fight al Qaeda & accuses the US troops of widespread brutality.”

Allah be praised! Our enemy does not have to rely solely on the Democratic Party to spread its lies and deceit. They have the Grand Mullah of Hoopla to wield the sword of unrighteousness.

“Iraq's prime minister has said he supports the policy of arming and training Sunni Arab tribesmen to fight against al-Qaeda.

In an interview with Newsweek magazine last week Nuri al-Maliki said that arming Sunnis risked creating new militias, but on Friday he said he had been misunderstood.

‘The government is not afraid of armed tribes, it is afraid of the chaos and ill-discipline that may lead to the presence of new militias,’ he said in a statement.

‘This must be done under the supervision of the Iraqi authorities and through the government.’

He said that a government committee would be set up to oversee the recruitment and arming of Sunni tribesmen.

The US strategy of arming and training tribal police units in the western Anbar province has been credited with significantly calming what was once Iraq's most violent region.

Any other lies that you have for us today Ken?

Gravatar Maliki rescinds for political purposes. And foolish cowards like you believe-- unlike 65% of the troops who as Sen. Webb pointed out on MTP no longer support Bush's policy.

Gravatar http://www.guardian.co.uk/ worldl...6785138,00.html

More Truth for Slavery to Lies & more failed surge.

Gravatar Hoopturd will believe anything that supports the idea we have lost and believe nothing to suggest the opposite.

NEXT!

Gravatar Ken,

There will always be body counts of unarmed innocent civilians killed by the insurgents that you support because its easier than fighting armed solders. As your article proves,

"The U.S. command said American soldiers had killed about a dozen insurgents during a three-hour gunfight Monday in the Fadhil district, a Sunni enclave in the center of the city. The battle began when paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division came under fire from the Islamic Bank building, the military said. One U.S. trooper was slightly wounded, the U.S. said."

And of course the Sadrists ended their ineffectual strike that you bragged about. The govt still collaborates with the U.S. and there is nothing that they can do about it.
