-15, Lows Keep Getting LOWER!

Gravatar Thanks for all those links Mike. Although, I'm already feeling sick and seeing Huckabee now leading in Missouri is about ready to do me in. This sucks!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for saving the day at my blog today!!!!

Gravatar Mike,
From your Real Clear Politics link it looks like McCain has a huge lead going into super Tuesday.

Has it really come to this? In a year where we can nominate ANYBODY and still win the general election we are going with McCain?

I don't think that Rudy is going to be able to live down the embarrasment of the worst political flop in American primary history. He would have been a great president but instead he may be done with politics permanently.

I expect Huckabee to throw his weight behind McCain after Super Tuesday, maybe trying for a VP?. The combination will easily overwhelm Romney

Gravatar Thanks to Gayle for alerting me to the problem at your page Dee! Glad I could help.

Gravatar kevin: Are you making a prediction???

Gravatar The presstitutes aren't waiting for the Panhandle. With under 1% in, it's McCain over Romney by about 300 votes (out of a bit over 40,000) and Giuliani over Huckabee by about 200.

Gravatar Mike,
looks like my prediction was slightly off. I never thought Rudy would endorse McCain.

McCain's campaign was finished just three months ago. No money, no street cred and no reasonable platform. Usually I am better at this but right now I have no idea regarding who has propped him up to this point. Of course he has received millions of dollars of free advertising from the media, but typically this type of surge is planed and paid for by somebody.

Gravatar Kevin: If you go back and look at my analysis post Iowa Caucus, you'll see I pronounced McCain the big winner even though he came in third.

McCain's organization was able to pull that off with very little money and jump start McCain's already strong organization in New Hampshire. And the rest is history.

When I spoke with McCain at a house party here in November and wished him good luck, I felt like I was telling a man about to face the firing squad that it would somehow be OK.

One factor that cannot be discounted here is the propensity of GOP voters to go with the guy whose "turn" it is.

McCain got passed over in 2000 and now, it's "his turn."

Lousy way to pick a president!

Gravatar I have to agree with the "turn" mentality, once he got rolling many people might have believed that it was his turn. That still does not explain how McCain survived let alone got rolling.

You are of course right about Iowa being a huge win for McCain, I have been looking at trends and the only thing I could find was that the Lieberman endorsment was a turning point for him. One day the media was saying he was done the next he was the media darling. I would love to find out more about this.

Gravatar Kevin: You can't discount McCain's campaign experience and the fact that the last 8 years he was been quietly working towards his goal.

If you are looking for an answer to the money question, the candidate 4th quarter 2007 report will be out after Jan. 31.

Gravatar Mike
The money question is answered but there is nothing there to explain McCain's surge.

He raised 7mill, borrowed 3 and spent it all or almost. Rudy raised twice that and Obama raised 32mill (and is still likely to loose to Hillary).

McCain is running on empty for Super Tuesday, but Romney has already stated that he is not going buy any add time so it will not be a problem for McCain to sweep.

Romney is far from my top choice, but so much better than McCain that it is not even funny. Here's hoping.

That was a good article Kevin. Thanks.

I wonder if Romney has time to use the slippery connections to Senate lobbyists contributions to his advantage? Probably not.

I'm still waiting for the detailed FEC spending reports.

Gravatar Kevin: Thanks. $59.2 million contributed to Rudy and nothing to show for it. What a waste.

His report did not have their allocations broken down by state.
