Sounds like something Hillary might have said during Bill's presidency, but now repudiates.

On a different subject:
Remember the Haditha, Iraq, incident where our Marines were accused of intentionally killing innocent civilians? I have been solicited for a contribution to the Legal Defense fund of one those Marines.
I thought JAG would have furnished their defense without charge. Anybody know whether or not they did so?
If not, why am I solicited by only one of many of the Marines involved? Anybody have any idea about that?
I am inclined to make a donation if this is not a scam. What do you think??

My guess would be the Hildabeast. She was hawkish on Iran until she saw it was not politically viable with the leftists in her party....and of course because Bush was also hawkish!

Papa Jack: Don't know the answer to your question about the Haditha Marine's Defense fund. Does the solicitation have a link to a web page?
Some of these solicitations are fundraisers that don't directly benefit the people they cite in their appeal. You have to be careful.

the Israeli lobby loses one! The truth comes out before the warmongering neocons can butcher Iran like they tried Iraq. I say they tried Iraq, but they got a little bogged down, and -er-increased Iran's influence in Irag by about 50%, so they've had to spend the past few months arming the Sunni militias to offset the Shia government in Iraq and distract everyone with the Al Qaeda straw man.
No matter-the enxt Iraqi government will be anti-American whenever it stabilizes-and Iran will be the dominant factor in the region as America's military power is sapped.
And all Bush can do is fume and threaten.

Hey Mike, I guess I am on time to join the party this time. Seriously I have been following your blog for some time and I would be happy to stop posting pro-Ron Paul messages if this is in any way offensive.
I have here the actual 2002 speech that Ron Paul gave to congress on why he would vote against the war in Iraq.

Interestingly enough he sounds almost diametrically opposed to Hillary...

Kevin:Speaking only for myself, I don't find Ron Paul offensive. I do find him entertaining.
What we need to explore is whether his isolationist/America First outlook is compatible with our responsibilities as a global power.
We learned the hard way in December 1941 that whether we liked it or not, we could not avoid the challenges of leadership in an interdependent world.
If anything has changed since then, it is the degree to which we are linked to events which happen far from our shores.

Mike,
Thanks, that is a very fair assesment.
I can't wait to see who you will support for this comming election. I had you pegged as McCain all the way but now he is looking less and less electable. I hope to see more blogs on this in the near future.

McCain? Not sure what you based that assessment on. I'm not a big McCain fan. And my decision has nothing to do with McCain's electability.
All will be clear very soon.

Kucinich has expressed interest in running with Paul, perhaps third party. Has said he will not support any Dem who voted for the war or believes in a warlike Mideast policy.

Mike,
>Are you willing to back the eventual GOP nominee?
Are you kidding? Of course I will back the eventual GOP nominee.
I support Ron Paul just like I supported Buchanan in 96 (and for many of the same reasons). And yes I have said this before but I would support the GOP nominee even if Ron Paul where to run as third party (which he has no intention of doing).
>Kevin: You see who your fellow Paulians are.... Not pretty!
You should have seen me in 96 on the back of a pick up truck gathering up Democratic candidate's yard signs For many of them this is their first political awakening. You can brush them off or take advantage of it.

Over at Floppingaces the contest said that I won.No prize and I might have to become a "demoncrat" or something even worse (sorry there is nothing worse). My son is crushed to find out this was another scam and has decided to become a socialist. My wife said she is now going to vote for Ron Paul or Denis Kucinich because neither of them would do such a dastardly deed.
