DING DING DING DING DING!!!!! -13.... How High can this go???

Gravatar If it weren't for your site, and the provided links, none of this would have seen the light of day. Thank You.

Gravatar Thank you Loon. It seems that whatever Obama said today is more important to the "news" media than a plan to lower gas prices for Americans.

Gravatar It's not to be understood that so many will blindly follow someone who wants to "change" America into a socialist state, while at the same time cares so little for Americans.

This, combined with his version of the Presidential Seal, should make everyone take notice of what's to come under an Obama presidency.

Gravatar You've got a good post up on the topic of Obama's "seal:"

http://oneloonstales.blogspot.co...for- change.html

Gravatar The momentum is definitely building on this...Pres Bush needs to really crank up the heat and rescind his father's executive order blocking the drilling and then the pressure will really be on Congress to act.

Gravatar I think, if McCain had the sense to grab this and make this THE issue, abandon all his half-assed ideas, and lead, then he could very well become the next President of the United States! Only an absolute idiot wouldn't seize this and run with it. Even the GOP knows this is the winning issue for November.

Of course, this is McCain we're talking about.

Gravatar We should have started drilling yesterday!!!

Gravatar The enviro lobby working through the Dems has contolled this vast resource to long and the time to end this agenda driven domination is now.

There are areas like in Montana that can use horizontal drilling at already exisitng sights to bring huge dposits to the surface in months not years yet the linbs still fight to prevent us from using our own resources.

Also we have enough in the ground to take care of our needs AND become a major exporter to the rest of the world. Capitalism at its best. But this to does not fit the Socialism agenda of the left.

Mike, check out the comments by Rob on my Sunday Commentary about oil and see how this lib tried to twist my encouraging drilling into saying that I was favoring Socialism and nationalizing the oil companies. You'll get a kick out of his reasoning!

Gravatar Well, you've been busy! Great U.S. map...!

Gravatar What's Patrick M referring to... or maybe I should ask who? McCain has said he is reconsidering drilling in ANWR. He is running with it, thank goodness. Of course he's being accused of flip-flopping by the masters of flip-flopping - like Obama who is now all of a sudden wearing his lapel flag pin and Michelle who is trying to turn herself into the new Jackie Kennedy. Sheesh!

Gravatar Gayle, I'm talking about the whole energy situation. Everything, from gas, to heating, to food tie into it. Ad it could become a single issue where conservatism can be clearly defined, liberalism made to look like the cancer that it is, and an America united under a goal of energy independence, harkening back to WWII, or even the space race in the 60's.

The problem is that McCain is not likely to lay out a clear and bold vision. And with Obama ditching the public financing, he can spend McCain into a hole without having to mess with too many of those pesky unscripted debates.

Without a clear difference (need I list all McCain's gray areas?) Obama will slide straight into the White House, Clinton Style. Except for the oral sex parts.

Gravatar Not a peep about conservation.

What a surprise.

Bye the bye, drilling in the ANWR would lower the price of a barrel of crude by roughly $0.75. But the good news is that would only be 7 to 12 years down the road.

http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_g...ml/ summary.html

Cheers!

Gravatar Arthur, there's no peep about conservation because the conversation is about people standing in the way of drilling oil. However, that's the first step in a long-term solution, most of which you missed during your usual sniper session from the anonymous bowels of whatever hole you troll from.

And we'll take 75 cents 7-12 years down the road over doing nothing. Now if we had started when we could have, gas would be $3.25. Any more excuses?

Of course, I guess you'd rather just argue against a solution rather than add another part of your own.

By the way, that's a challenge. Do you have any ideas how to increase our supply of energy or lower gas prices in the short term?

Gravatar Democrats have been pusing a conservation only policy for the last 20 years.

Conservation is a prescription for a stagnating economy leading to a massive recession. And the worst thing about that is that the poor and the middle class will be most effected as the price of energy continues to spiral upwards. Before long, it will cost the equivalent of two to three hours of labor for low income workers to be able to get to work in the multitude of rural and suburban locales where mass transit isn't practical.

Patrick is right. This could be the HUGE issue that gives McCain an edge over Obama's ability to outspend him 2 to 1. When it comes down to it, Obama will side with his elitist environmental liberal friends over the little people in all those states that voted for Hillary. Those are the people who will be most hurt by Obama's indifference to high energy costs.

The question is: will McCain be effective in framing this issue?

I guess we will find out.

P.S. And if "Arthur" had spent as much time reading reports from the Energy Information Administration as I have he would know that the use of petroleum has leveled off in the past few years and that consumers have actually decreased buying by over 4%. I realize he won't be satisfied until he forces us all on bicyclyes, but that's not going to happen. Conservation only is a killer.

Gravatar Mike Mike Mike.

You give me too much credit. I won't 'force' you onto a bicycle. But I am happy we finally are paying the true cost of the resource.

And Patrick. I hope the price of gas stays at this level. We won't waste as much.

Gravatar "Arthur" the conservation only scheme which Democrats have pursued is already forcing people onto bicycles.

Perhaps you missed the story of school kids being forced to walk to school because the school district can't afford gas for the buses?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ wp...2202193_pf.html

And what about the lower income workers who have to work overtime just to pay for the gas to get to work?

You libs don't care. You want to run everyone's life in a way that no right wing religious conservative would ever dream of.

Gravatar Arthur, you've answered my question. You've also told us what you want to happen to America.

There are countries for people like you, you know.

Gravatar Mike. Mike. Mike. I don't care even a little bit if you ride a bike or not. Your cut & paste notwithstanding riding a bicycle won't signal the end of civilization as we know it.

And Patrick you are spot on. For once. There is a country for 'people like me'. The good old USA.

Cheers.

Gravatar "I don't care even a little bit if you ride a bike or not."

Typical elitist attitude Artie...

Reminds me of "let them eat cake."

Gravatar Mike typed:

Typical elitist attitude Artie...

I'm an 'elitist' because I don't care how you choose to lead your life and spend your money? Always. Always. Always in 'Mike's America' it's 'elitists' telling 'real' Americans what to do and how to do it.

Do you ever think before typing Mike?

Gravatar You might want to rethink your own statement in light of the above.

Gravatar Arthur: You're probably right about the USA being for you.

In other countries you'd probably be in charge of crushing the masses.

Or you'd be shot.

Gravatar Patrick M typed:

Or you'd be shot.

Now we get to it the heart of things, right Patrick?

Gravatar patrick...you actually forgot the option that he would actually fall into...the kiss up wusses that just stood by and watched while the masses were slaughtered.

Gravatar Don't worry Arthur, you're safe in the USA. We protect even people like you.
