Mike posed the tough question:
At the end of the question and answer session, I had one last question for Congressman Hunter: "Readers at my blog, Mike's America, have said time and again that we need another Reagan: someone who has the vision of a better way forward for this nation and who can unite and lead us down that road. I venture to suggest that all those who are here today agree with your views on the issues. As President, how will you implement these goals?"
By dressing up in a cowboy suit like the one RR is pictured in on your blog?

I like Hunter. He has strong and conservative views on the issues. Of all who have announced he is the true conservative of the bunch. Unfortunatly he hasn't much name recognition or a strong grassroots movement to get the means and the ability at least at this point to win.
On another note have you heard about the movement to draft Fred Thompson? Go to HinzSight.com and there is a story with a link to the site behind this. Could be interesting. He is a strong conservative with ample name recognition.

Everything he said was spot on. Listenting to him I
too was impressed. We need someone like him
but he lacks that tired old cliche "charisma". He's
too nice. President Reagan, was nice as well but he
was able to get things done through that shear force of magnetism. We'll never see the likes of that again. Unfortunately what we need now is a street fighter. One who can dish out as well as give back all the attacks that will be leveled by the dems. Especially if we have to deal with the dirty
rotten tricks Clinton machine.

Ken: There was a question about Hunter's ability to break out and get noticed.
His response was that he won the AZ straw poll without even competing. And he spent $10k competing in the SC straw poll and people like Romney, who came in very low, spent ten times that amount.
You never know what could happen. Just as you never know what could happen if Fred Thompson got into the race.

Mike:
If we end up picking from the 2nd tier candidates Hunter is by far my favorite. I'm so excited that you got to be there and ask a great question.
This post is going in my Hunter file for my conservative profile on him.

I like Hunter he sounds solid on all the right issues.
The question is will he have the ability to draw enough money early enough in this 2 year presidential campaign to just not be drowned out by the two heavy weights?
Neither The Traitor or The Mayor are conservitive
McCain is a walking deadman he just hasn't had the stake driven through his heart yet. That won't happen until the first multiple primary day, then will only hafta to watch as he refuses to stay in the ground.
As for the Mayor unless someone like Hunter can get the cash to hang he really doesn't have any challenge.
The length of this freakshow analexam could allow anything to happen over the next 18mths.
Gingrich said he won't decide untill september at the earliest, and unless heavy money by the christian right tries to push a candidate the best we can push for is a President who will at least shoot back if shot at and thats Rudy

I wondered if you made it to see Duncan Hunter. He is on my list of potential recipients of my vote. I was talking to my son last week and told him to give Hunter a look see also. Thanks for the report!

"Humbert" You're not fooling anyone Chris at IP 67.101.154.29
When are you going to grow up?
Troll: Hunter will be pulling in some $$$ after his latest strong showing in SC. And as he explained to me, he won in AZ without spending any money and came in a tie really for 1st in SC spending 1/1oth of what the other guys spent.

"It's in America's interest to expand freedom" said Hunter when the conversation switched to Iraq. Supporting freedom and democracy movements has been U.S. policy for sixty years and it works.
how do you "expand" freedom?
In every successful example from the last sixty years Hunter notes that we've followed the same game plan: "first, we stand up a free government; then we stand up a military force capable of protecting that government; and lastly, we leave."
Successful examples please.

Dateraper: You're not fooling anyone with that French pseudonym.
Hunter provided one example, El Salvador. How many others would you like? Take a look around Europe? In fact, stand up right now and look down at your feet. The ground you are standing on is free and you prosper because of the generosity and sacrifice of the United States.

and id like to point out that we the british defended ourselves for the most part without US assistance. the threat of nazi invasion, in the UK, was long gone before you decided the join battle. so please stop making me feel like i owe you personally a favour. infact seeing how we the britished were one of the only ones to pay our war debt off completely to the US i dont owe you anything.
Isnt it about time you thanked the russians, seeing as they did 95% of the fighting and dying. The entire western contribution to WW2 is pityful in comparison. but then you septics just whitewash it to sound like you carried the majority of burden materially and physically.
(cue communist accusations)
Hunter provided one example
you
In every successful example from the last sixty years Hunter notes...
you
Which is it to be?
if there is more than one example tell me what they are. and post war please, 60 years puts you to 1947. i want to know about US examples of "[s]upporting freedom and democracy". Even El Salvador is a fairly weak example. not much freedom for the thousands who died at the hands of US backed forces there.

If you think Britain, or your beloved Mother Russia would have survived the Nazi onslaught without American help than you are more out of touch with reality than I thought.

What is it with you? I answered your question on my terms.
Why do you socialist/marxists demand sole authority for setting the terms of the debate?
Isn't that a fascist characteristic?

so the best you and your guy can come up with for defending freedom worldwide in the last 60 years; is a world war that happened over 60 years ago and the funding of government death squads in el salvador.

Hmmm... The freedom of hundreds of millions and worldwise prosperity and you can't see the example?
I'm not surprised!
Maybe we should ask some of those formerly held hostage to your marxist ideology how THEY feel about it?
