DING DING DING DING DING!!!!! -13.... How High can this go???

And the Dems pretend to be for the "little guy"???

Was just talking with a single mother of two who barely makes $20,000.00 a year, and pays $800.00 a month rent.

If you figure that out, you'll see that there's not much left for food and gas. She said she is "trapped", because she can't afford the gas to even go out of town without it hurting her checkbook. (Gas is $4.00 a gallon where she lives).

Economist Hussein-Zada proves the American Empire's Iraq War reponsible for the oil price increase.

Gravatar STFU, Hoop. You're just a broken record, you idiot.

Gravatar the envirowheenies are killing the us with glee in their beedy little eyes

Gravatar What Hoop's "economist" fails to figure in is that the only place in the world where American Dollars can be redeemed is America.

It doesn't matter where you spend them, they all eventually come back here.

By the way, any of you Dems who want to take a stab at answering this...

If we went to war in Iraq for oil, then where is my Iraqi oil?

We have spent the National Treasure and committed the lives, why do we not have a steady stream of Iraqi crude flowing into America no matter what OPEC and Hugo Chavez think?

(And if you say it is because Bush's scheme was uncovered before it could be put into place, then, again, HIGH GAS PRICES ARE YOUR STINKIN' FAULT.)

Thanks a load.

BTW, Mike... I linked to your post about Ted Kennedy's diseased brain over at my place. (My post has a little different tone than your's though...)

Let me know if you would rather I didn't link it... Thanks.

Gravatar Tug: No problem with the link, even if I do take a somewhat different tack on that story.

As for Hoopienomics: he's full of it as usual. His sources are all either hard left America haters or KKK types. I don't even bother to read them anymore.

Gravatar Bringing this country to its knees seems to be the aim of a lot of people on the left. What really disgust me is that the liberal wing of the Republican party is falling in line. WE need leadership from some one and fast.

Gravatar "WE need leadership from some one and fast."

If House Republicans would just make another contract with America that would help.

McCain will give us leadership on national security, but he's going to take us down the wrong road on global warming, so he's a mixed bag.

Gravatar Drill, Drill, Drill, and then Drill again. The answer to the, "crisis." The Answer to the , "shortage." The answer to energy needs and the answer to finding lower prices at the pump.

Yet the left and the enviro freaks who cry the pudest at foreign dependancy prevent the only real answer to the problem!

Gravatar Ken: We all know the dirty little secret: These lefties won't allow us to drill any more than they would agree to building of new nuclear power plants, or windpower or solar farms.

Their real motive is to strangle the U.S. economy and thereby weaken the U.S. military.

They don't believe in a strong U.S. anymore than they believe in freedom and democracy.

It's only by weakening the U.S. that they hope they can gain real, lasting political change with them in charge.

They are watermelons: green on the outside and red on the inside.

Gravatar When George Bush was elected, gas was $1.48 per gallon. Its now over $4. Gee I wonder if hiring an ex oil man, having all his ex oil cronies as cabinet members has anything to do with that???

Gravatar http://counterpunch.org/ lindorff...ff05172008.html

No, the Iraq War is a main cause of the oil price increase.

Gravatar Tugboat asks:

If we went to war in Iraq for oil, then where is my Iraqi oil?

http://www.tomdispatch.com/post/174935

The Iraqi resistance prevented you from stealing it,as outline here.

Gravatar Toadbat: If we had started drilling in ANWR when the House and Senate passed it in 1995 gas today would be lower.

So thank you Democrats!

Gravatar I was going to say "Bob", but he wasn't a choice, so, I'll say Democrats.

Gravatar Awesome post, I am linking to this in today's post!!

Gravatar Mike, did you catch Maxine Waters[D-CA] prpose the US government nationalize the oil industry?
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/...s-oil-industry/

To paraphrase Pogo, 'We have met the enemy and they are Democrats.'

Gravatar Mike,

Again, you just don't get it.

Tug,

The war wasn't about getting the oil; the war was about the sale of oil being conducted in US dollars and to disrupt the oil supply to create excess profits for Bush's oil constituents in Texas.

Saddam, as Iran has just done, switched the sale of his oil into Euros. Oil has always been sold in US dollars and any other country who wasn't on the dollar had to do business with US banks in order to convert their Pounds, Krone, Peso or whatever to dollars. The US simply prints more dollars when they buy oil. Now with the value of the Euro vs. the dollar, the US would have to buy Euros at a loss in order to buy oil assuming Iraq was still trading Oil in Euros, getting rid of Saddam took care of that.

Things aren't always as simple as the conservative mind sees them.

Gravatar Toad734 just explained the Iranian nuclear crisis.

Gravatar Toadbat: Again, your credentials in this field, as well as those in environmental science are somewhat lacking.

Perhaps you have some educational background in this field or a wide circle of professional aquaintance in National Security which permits you to form your opinions.

If so, I would be most happy to hear all about them. Maybe we know some of the same people.

If not, then I can only conclude that you are treating us to the same regurgitated left wing tripe that Mother Jones, Moveon, Cindy Sheehan and George Soros have been selling you hapless souls for years.

My bet is on the later.

Gravatar Hey Mike,

Great stuff as usual.

Thanks,
J.R.

Gravatar Republicans are an idiotic bunch aren't they! Even if we had approved the drilling of oil in the ANWR area, oil companies would have done the drilling. By saying that allowing us to drill in ANWR would reduce the cost of gas is making a big assumption that the oil companies drilling in ANWR would not ass-rape us themselves. These oil companies already drill for oil in the US and they have not provided us any break to date, why would they start with ANWR oil? The only benefit ANWR drilling would have is it would make the filthy rich oil companies even more rich (you know a benefit to Bush's cronies). The only way the ANWR drilling would benefit us at the pump is if the US actually did the drilling itself, but that's not going to happen as all the drilling would be leased out to the private sector. So stop your bitching, and look at the whole picture. Blaming everything on democrats is just stupidity at work, because there have been many years where the republicans controlled the senate, house, and the presidency. If republicans wanted to drill so bad they have had their opportunity.

Gravatar Mike: Did you have anything worthwhile, substantive or original to contribute to this discussion or did you just plan to piss all over the comment thread with the usual Democrat bile, willful disinformation and idiocy?
