I think there is a larger issue here of the promise of a "new day" with African-American leadership, and the failure to hold that leadership accountable. Unfortunately, the reason why Kwame has been able to stay in office is that our city council is so dysfunctional. There may be a few lessons here in regards to holding Obama (as President) accountable. Two quick notes: blacksmythe.com/blog is liveblogging CNN's Black America special. Pretty interesting commentary. Lastly, it's Midtown Detroit, "Center" refers to some place on the East Coast.

Dude - stop hatin'. 'Midtown Detroit' - see it's the Detroit City Council worryin' about stuff like that that has them so dysfunctional. What they need to do is start small and at least talk Kwame out of wearin' those inappropriate outfits. Then move on to fryin' bigger fish...
