Oh for heaven's sakes! James Brown was nothing more nor less than a semi-talented thug who was, until his recent death, more or less forgotten! Now suddenly he's some sort of freaking diety! What's up with that?

I was driving cross-country some years ago and stopped at a convenience store. As I was entering to pick up a soda, I was nearly knocked over by this truly UGLY little man who could hardly have missed seeing my then-350 pound self! It was the so-called (no doubt self-proclaimed) godfather of soul - rude and obnoxious to say the least. How many domestic violence complaints were made against him?

Someone really worthwhile died last week and his name was Gerald R. Ford, Jr., former President and truly good human being. HIM I will mourn. James Brown, not so much.
