John Kerry may be one of the more spectacularly unattractive candidates (against some pretty stiff competition) ever fielded by the Democratic Party, particularly in comparison with the stalwart George W. Bush.
Hillary Rodham Clinton's ambition is exceeded by the one thing that will, in the end, defeat her: Her strident mendacity and astoundingly unattractive persona.
Vice President Cheney makes a flying trip to Afghanistan and two things happen: (1) we discover a serious security breach in the intelligence services leading to the homicide bombing, and (2) we now have every REASON to bomb the living bejabbers out of the Taliban loons, both in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, thus serving a salutory wake-up call to Musharraf as well!

Poll driven?
I logged onto Yahoo! this morning and saw a news head Poll: most Americans want Iraq withdrawal deadline. Well, I didn't check it out and a few minutes later the link was gone. I couldn't find it later either although all the other news links were still there. I think it might have been a fake poll to try to demoralize the public and Yahoo! was found out or was so willing to believe that they ran with it. These other polls show the opposite.
Gayle is of course right, but although Bush was put in office, we see today the willful blindness or stupidity on the part of our so-called leaders. Are they all so obtuse or fearful that they will lie to us and keep us from the truth because they are afraid they might lose their power? Do they value their position in society so much that they would give up anything, even our political liberty to maintain their social standing under a totalitarian islamist government? Although their lives wouldn't last long after a takeover.
Why are we allowed to see the truth and cry from the wilderness and effect nothing while our leaders are blinded and will lead us into darkness? Don't know what the Divine plan is, but at least we know that good wins in the end. It would be nice to win here though too.....
