Matisyahu = Matityahu = Matthew.
First one is the Ashkenazic pronunciation (Eastern European); second is the Sephardic (Spain and Middle East).
Huh. You said "expose yourself." Huh huh huh. Shaddup, Beavis.

If you're looking to switch to adjustable sights, look into ghost-ring sights for your 1911 and .38 Stupor. There's a bunch of them out there.

When I lived in Maryland (moved away in '94), I used to follow a Messianic group called Zion's Hope:
Zion's Hope
Your post made me go look them up again. I can remember sitting in a service by Marv Rosenthal where he was talking about the Passover's symbolisms for Christ's sacrifices on the cross and I was thinking that I never knew how rich and deep it really was.
It's important for us as Christians to remember God came first to the Jew and then to the gentiles. I don't know why sometimes we think acceptance of the gift of God somehow makes us special in this regard...it doesn't.
Thanks for the thought-provoking post. I'm finding your explorations of your faith are helping me further explore and deepen mine, so thanks! Keep-em coming!

Enjoy ur blog. I discovered part of ur journey some time ago, and got a MA in Hebrew Bible to try to find out what Matthew, Paul, Peter et al were talking about. My guess is, they prolly taught and spoke in Hebrew a lot, and that understanding really makes Greek and English richer! Keep on looking...and finding. Torah is forever, because it is literally "instruction" in derek-Yahweh, the way of the Lord.

I'm going to repeat a comment from a previous post. I hope that's not rude, but I'm convinced that it is beneficial .
May I recommend Alfred Edersheim's "The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah", or the abridged version: "Jesus the Messiah".? You can read it for free here: http://philologos.org/__eb-lat/
since it is now in the public domain.
This is a real eye opener as to the context of what Jesus was saying and where and why He was saying it.

There are a handful of 45 dies on Ebay for under ten bucks. You can change all three, or if you want, just change the height of the neck and crimp dies.
You can't just shim the dies, usually, because the neck and crimp inner and outer often have to be adjusted to different heights.
it does get confusing, fast. You're doing fine, coming to the right conclusions, and asking the correct questions. Don't sweat it.

I also have the same Bible and commentary you do. I bought it at the Jews for Jesus store in Oakland Park (on University north of Commercial Blvd.) I agree - Messianic Jews have much more depth when they understand who Christ is - because they have the background to understand so much more than we do.

Hodgdon makes Clays, Universal Clays, and Titegroup. All work wonderfully, and you should look to see if you can meet your lower power (please note that part) needs with them. They are all very nice for lower power loads, and very clean. My normal .45 ACP load has been about 5 grains of Titegroup for years. Works wonderfully.

As to casting bullets, with a two-cavity mold and a Lee bottom-pour melter, I can run off at least a hundred in an hour once I'm started. Not as slow as you think.
For hot loads you need to use bullets that'll take a gas check, which means you need a sizer/luber press. It can get a bit complicated. Dad has one, so I cast a bunch of stuff as I can, and when I go to visit take them along and we sit and talk and run them through.

Steve, the Hodgdon powder that is closest to Unique is Universal Clays. Personally I think folks worry too much about how clean a powder burns but then I shoot a lot of black powder cartridges.
As far as I'm concerned the main advantage of Universal over Unique is that the individual powder kernels of Universal are heavier and denser than Unique. That might well help you with your floating powder.
Another powder to consider is Winchester Action Pistol. It burns sightly slower than Unique. It, like all other Winchester powders is a ball powder. Ball powders are also dense and don't float around much or bounce much. Their biggest advantage is that they meter more precisely than the flake or stick type powders.

I can't recommend enough reading the early church fathers -- particularly the epistles of Clement and Ignatius (of Antioch). They give great insights into further explaining the gospels. Also, since Ignatius was the direct successor to Peter when he left Antioch to go to Rome, he has a bit of additional insight into the workings of the early church.
When Christ speaks of the "Kingdom of God", he is referring to a rather nebulous concept, and often speaks of many things at once. He is, of course, speaking of Heaven, but at the same time of the ministry of His church. Some argue that He foreshadows the conversion of Constantine, or even Christendom itself. Of course He wills us to interior conversion and spiritual growth, but also He wishes us to be inspired by our faith and charity to build His kingdom on earth.
As for the Holy Ghost, he was always there, but humanity did not receive this person in the trinity until Pentecost. Nor was this possible without Christ's death on the cross.
