Making it Work sounds just like Real Enough also by D&tS's.
I loved that album Wrap it. Back in the day when you would buy an album because you liked the name of the band.....

Nice stuff. I've loved Lightfoot and his "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" for years, but the rest was new to me. And I spewed coffee when I heard the first chorus of "We Are The Beaver"!
Thanks, and Happy Canada Day to you!

Too cool! I spent hours trolling around for pirate songs yesterday. I wish I'd found your blog first.
Do you like Fifteen Men (And a Bottle of Rum) by Mercyful Fate? I think it's decent. So is Yo Ho (and a Bottle of Rum) by Jonas Brothers on the Disney Mania 4 (of all places!) album. I remember The Pirates who Don't do Anything from watching Veggie Tales with the kids. Of course, the cover by Relient K is much easier on the ears.
Buffett's A Pirate Looks at Forty is of course the best. The download is already gone but as a diehard Buffett fan, I've don't need it. Speaking of Buffett, you had a great Buffett blog back in February 2007. Any way I could get those rare downloads short of spending a few bucks on eBay?

Because I'm stupid and new to your blog, I posted a comment to the wrong one. I meant to comment to the pirate blog from next month.
Still, it's nice to find a Buffett fan. I too went out and bought all the CDs I could find after hearing Songs You Know by Heart for the first time...

One of the songs I listened to around the sizzling campfire this past weekend was Ian Tyson's "Four Strong Winds." The song is so good Stephen Harper could sing it and it would sound good. Of note: Canadians are getting more and proud of their country and its artists as we look toward the second half of our second century.

allen: Exactly right, Doug and the Slugs has got to be one of the greatest group names ever. BTW great work over at Jefito Well written.
whiteray: I still laugh when I hear Beaver. Great tune. Hope you enjoyed the new ones that you hadn't heard.
jb: one of these days don't be surprised if you find some Anne here at rockin'. It's inevitable.
Elan: No problem mate. If you let me know which Buffett's you need, I'll repost them.
Mr. Beer: Yeah it's a great song. The first time I heard it was when Neil Young performed it at the tsunmai relief concert.
girl across the Sea: We go and see Colin James everytime he rolls through Victoria. Astounding performer.
Willie: Heart moved from Bellevue Washington to Vancouver in 1974 after manager Mike Fisher found out he was to be drafted by the United States Army. They got their start in Canada but the band also moved back to Seattle in 1977 after the US government declared amnesty for all American Draft Dodgers. Hmmm, canadian artist or American artist?

You are my hero. Seriously. I’ve found copies of Carribbean Amphibian and I Don't Know but I still need these Buffett tracks:
Don't Bug Me
Elvis Imitators
Take It Back
Turning Around
Hello Texas
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Souvenirs
Another Saturday Night
No Woman, No Cry
I’ve collected about 20 Buffett albums but I still haven’t scored a copy of Havana Daydreamin' or Volcano so could I impose on you to repost
Sending the Old Man Home and Kick it in Second Wind???
I grabbed up your Live in Las Vegas album off Kitty Treats and got to listen to it for the first time on vacation last week while sitting under an umbrella on a Florida beach about 50 yards from A1A. It MADE my entire vacation. I’d like to reciprocate if I have anything you don’t. Do you have the Hoot soundtrack? Hearing Jimmy Buffett’s cover of Werewolves of London was worth the price of the CD in my humble opinion. Or did you spring for the fairly new CD set Meet Me in Margaritaville? Meet Me includes a nice acoustic version of The Captain and the Kid that I like much better than the old one. Email me at ladd_family@hughes. net and let me know if I can share anything with you.
