BTW, Sinatra totally danced. Haven't you ever seen "Anchors Aweigh" or "Take Me Out to the Ballgame?" He wasn't as good as Gene Kelly, but he sure did try.

I simply do not recall Michael Jackson being the "dominant performer" of his era. I think there are plenty of other people who might be more deserving of that title.
Michael's dominance lay chiefly in his ability to dominate the media as a total whack job, not in his supposedly prime occupation as "performer".
As soon as the media feeding frenzy is over, he'll fade into the background and the media will start pimping someone else.
RIP, surely, but I wish the media would find something else to get exercised about -- like this worthless Democrapic administration that is bound and determined to destroy our way of life.

I agree with you Nathan on Jackson's dominance. I will admit he was revolutionary in his approach to music videos and clearly he was dominant in that medium. He sold lots of records, but if we look at his entertainemnt lifespan it was not all that long.
I hate to say it, but much like Elvis, his untimely death is probably his best carreer move.
As I stated earlier, I have never owned, borrowed, purchased, or copied a Michael Jackson or Jackson Five recording. I guess he made good videos, but I was never much for MTV either (even back when they were music television!).
I think I've told you before that MJ was one of my idols in my early teens. My walls were plastered with his photos, I bought books about him, I (still) have TWO copies of Thriller (one I bought myself and one that was gifted to me and I never ditched - what if one got scratched?). I thought he was great looking too (until he decided he needed to look like a white woman that is).
But because he never really seemed to vigorously defended himself against the charges, and after that creepy statement about "having a child in your bed" being "the most loving thing a person can do" crap, I decided that... creature would not get ONE MORE minute of my time or money. Predators need to be put away for good - not held up or idolized.
Need me to drive up there with a shovel?

Never listened to anything Michael Jackson on purpose. His dancing looks like a meth-head, who has to pee, having a seizure.
Unless you're mom or dad keeping an ill child comfortable, sleeping in the same bed with children is wrong. It's that simple.
Of course, for 20 million dollars, I would have slept with Michael Jackson.
