Hmm, "Abortion" now returns 1356 for a subject search while "abortion" returns 1305...
Wait, now its 1771 and 1791 respectively...
Ok third time its 1860 and 1845 respectively.
I did all my searches within a 5 minute span, each search nearly immediately after the previous one. I have never been able to get the same number twice for these searches
Something strange is going on. Unless there is nearly constant changes in the content of the collections as well as the keyword indexing, they should be the same.
And there certainly isn't 25,000 records.
Searching for "abstinence" or "Abstinence" brings back 3940 records - every time
Hmmm...very odd.

Dave,
Its still odd. If they re-indexed their collections or were having issues with distributed collections going offline, one would expect all search terms to have issues. From my quick test, it seemed only to affecting 'abortion' .I tried 'abstinence' as you suggested and threw in, randomly 'ovarian' as a control, and each of these words returned the same number of records even while the numbers for 'abortion' were fluctuating.
I have done some work with Verity K2, the search engine of choice for the Federal government, including RCMP CPIC, and I have never run across this kind of a problem.
