The Galloping Beaver

Gravatar Bravo, Dave.

Gravatar Wonderful writing Dave. The type of military intervention should not be based on gender, but upon the skills, abilities and temperament of the combatant. Some soldiers - women and men - have the chops to fight in high risk missions. Others will shine in peace-keeping tours of duty.

Coren and his acolytes of sexist porn-loving, chicken-shit types, have nothing of value to say about military issues because they prefer to bask in the illusion that they're fighting as religious crusaders.

Gravatar I always look to your posts for information on matters military. This was an exceptional one in the series.

Well done.

Gravatar Hear hear.

Gravatar Well said Dave...I hope you emailed Coren a copy of this.

Maybe Sun Media as well.

Gravatar Well said Dave.
In a situation like Iraq, it makes little difference whether one is in the "true combat arms occupations" or not since in the words of Curtis Mayfield "the danger zone is everywhere." I suppose the distinction can and should be drawn between those who get attacked while doing their "non-combat arms" jobs and those who are specifically tasked with going out and hunting the bad guys, but I don't see what having a penis has to do with one's suitability for one over the other.

It is said that there are no atheists in foxholes. Not having been in a foxhole, I don't know about that, but I suspect that it is at least equally true that there is no gender either, merely fellow triggerpullers who either have your back or don't and I seriously doubt that having interior or exterior plumbing is the deciding factor when bad shit happens.

Gravatar And let me amend that by saying that I very, very seriously doubt that one's preference for a certain type of genitalia would make a damned bit of difference either.
