The Galloping Beaver

Gravatar I fully agree with your post. Did you send this comment to the Editor of the G&M? I would love to see this published with some kind of "mea culpa" on their part.

Gravatar The G&M doesn't do mea culpa. Ever. They won't have a "public editor", ala the NYT, The Star et al, position for the same reasons they don't do mea culpa.

They commit no errors.

Various and sundry journos who work there now may have committed errors prior to their employment at the G&M. They have committed none since joining.

It's been an axiom of Canadian life for decades.

Gravatar Well done, beaver.

Indeed, G&M is loosing credibility writing on this self-proclaimed doctor, as if he's an honest voice in the debate.

I know, a "he-said she-said", without any fact checking, is a lot less time consuming for G&M "journalists" than doing some real research. As long as these "type of cost savings" contribute to the increased salaries of Phillip Crawley, Edward Greenspon, and the like, we will continue to see the quality of reporting decrease.

Mind you, a "he said, she said", which seems to be the standard news reporting on the internet these days, has little to do with REAL journalism.

First newspapers lost market share, now they're loosing credibility too. What's left?

Gravatar MSG, the G&M reads us. They'll get it. As Dana pointed out however, it's like farting against thunder.

Gravatar ...or thundering against farts?

Noni

Gravatar Is it just me, or is McVety running awful close to libel? It seems to me that he is now attempting to directly impugn the personal and professional reputation of Justice McLachlin.

Gravatar MGS... astute observation. I hadn't thought of that.

Gravatar Thunder?

Farts??

Damn, it's getting loud and aromatic in here . . . .
