Red-winged black birds are one of my favorites, though I'm alittle confused about turtles and mammalian life?!?!
Great photos--birds are hard subjects because they never sit still! And I have two of those items that you mention!
Am I the only one who noticed those turtles are mating? Or maybe I just have a dirty mind! Once on a first date (to zoo) guess what the HUGE turtles were doing??

I saw my first smashed turtle for the season. Poor turtles start coming out and try crossing the roadways here. Some are not that lucky.

The reason they don't build boxes is because of the union. Everytime they try to make headway in going back to work, they run into trouble with the snappers....

When I retired I planned to bird-watch. I ought get on that while I can still walk.
The top photo is good enough to frame. You could crop it but I wouldn't bother.
