It has turned out to be a good idea after all to accompany your dad during the holidays. You would risk missing many things, such as TV, your car, etc. had your dad (with failing memory) been totally home alone. Try getting him to play mahjong for brain stimulation. =)

If I find any stray and small size grasshoppers and crickets, they make very tasty treats for my pet tortoises. You can check out their extensive diet on my homepage. So, those are great subsidies for my pet food supply.

On the fighting fish, you had better check on them when you wake up because fishes are known to not survive a hearty meal.

My tortoise home alone day left me with 3 patches of dried pancake poops sticking to the floor which took me 20 minutes to clean. She was grounded for the night.

Trisha: Yeap! I am loving every minute of it! My dad plays mahjong.. but I wonder what good he gets? His memory is still failing. I didn't really feed the fish as it is not .. particularly hungry. I always ended up making the water murky.
