Gravatar ♥ listener and family.

Past my bedtime, so I'm just popping in to say

Gravatar Thanks for the news note, listener.

Gravatar Great news about Ally!!!

xoxoxoox

Happy almost long weekend everybody

Gravatar Fascinating and sad to watch BFA commit hari kari. Just when I thought Tara had done the most damage possible, along comes Danny. . . .

Gravatar Funny ~~ Edwin thought that Tara was a Rove agent. Wonder how he'd look at what Danny is doing?

Gravatar Testing...

Gravatar Phew! Couldn't post yesterday. Kept getting the message "Invalid User."

Gravatar Excellent news so far about Ally. But, I've lost the candle link. Help.

Gravatar Cat I was getting the invalid user thing, too.

Here you go:

And new update at baby.

Gravatar Thanks, Puddle. Finally remembered to bookmark it.

Gravatar puddle...I have no idear what's happening at the other blog.
Anything worth mentioning?
Last time I peeked it looked strange and was getting harder to find my way around in.
I'm not geeky enough for it anymore.

Gravatar cHeRyL

Is puddle's blog still not letting you in?

Just incase, here's the update:

THURSDAY, JULY 03, 2008 02:36 PM, EDT
Ally's Mom writes:

I just called the hospital. One of the test results they need to figure out if Ally is going to have 1 or 2 transplants will not be ready until Monday, because of the holiday. Grrrrrrrrrr. So, we won't know until Monday now, hopefully this is the part that is jinxed, and we will get good news on Monday. Keep praying!
PS: Today Ally weighed: 18 lbs 12 oz!

Gravatar Renee! ♥

Thanks for posting the link(s), puddle! ♡

Gravatar Today I went to visit my Alma Mater
GODDARD COLLEGE (hallo Thankful!)for the first time since I graduated!
I went now to hear the master poet Mark Doty speak.

I am so pleased!!! They have refurbished all the gardens, from flowers to stonework, and the fountains work now, too! All the buildings are in excellent condition and the grounds are better than I could have imagined! How many times in life to we go back to an old familiar place and find it still very familiar but also much improved?! I got some photo and will use a few for threads once I get them downloaded.

When I was at Goddard, Mark was my Advisor and First Reader for my Senior Project. He did workshops with us on poetry, but I don't think he ever read any of his own aloud. So it was especially good today to hear him read a half dozen really moving poems, then take questions. He is doing really well, just got another poetry award, in California, and is still the only American ever to win Great Britain's T.S. Eliot Prize.

I had him sign his book My Alexandria (about the ruins in his life after his partner Wally Roberts died of AIDS)...as it has his amazing epic poem "The Wings" in it. He asked me what I'm doing these days. He pretended to remember me (he can't possibly have remembered). The last time he saw me I was on the beginning end of a six year stint in the ordination process. So I told him (in less than a minute) that the Church said yes to me, but I said no to the Church because I discovered I couldn't both obey a bishop and be in honest relationship with God. So now I meet with people seeking spiritual guidance (which is really a lot like poetry). I wanted to thank him again for his gentle, exacting guidance while I was at Goddard, but the prudent thing was to move on.

So, I got some more alone time (with camera) in the gardens before driving home through a freakin' Vermont Monsoon!

Now I'm really tired and am thinking of a little nap.

Gravatar listener: only ON TOPIC comments are allowed on the front paged threads. Everything else is banished to "the watercooler" threads which disappear after 24 hours. And have exciting titles like 3a.m. watercooler thread.

Tim has promised that after this weekend, he'll archive the watercooler threads. They don't count comments there, so they won't have to compare. Charles came on to say that "the majority" of DFA members don't care how many comments their are, only if they are on topic. When they conducted this poll, he didn't mention.

Once again DFA HQ puts its head firmly up its ass, and refuses to listen.

Susan Rowe thinks, and I agree, that they've killed BFA. And I suspect, DFA too.

I doubt they'll reverse themselves on this.

Gravatar I keep thinking of the phrase "benign neglect", except that it never seemed all that benign.

Gravatar Ya. Doesn't feel all that benign to me either. . . . But this goes beyond even malignant neglect. . . .

Gravatar "Larry Harmon, longtime Bozo the Clown, dead at 83

By JOHN ROGERS, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 12 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES - Larry Harmon, who turned the character Bozo the Clown into a show business staple that delighted children for more than a half-century, died Thursday of congestive heart failure. He was 83."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ 20080...wTOW2n2Myqs0NUE

I remember going to see Bozo's Circus in 3th grade. My teacher had waited like 6 years to get tickets!

Gravatar Have not posted here for a long while.

Just wanted to say I think BFA will be toast before long. So sad.

Gravatar Gosh, D, I would've thought he was older than that, except I didn't know he was still alive. Can't remember a time in my life he *wasn't*. . . .

Gravatar listener, thanks for the report about visiting your alma mater. very interesting.

Gravatar Hi, kheart.

Gravatar kheart...have to agree, too authoritarian for me likes now...controlling the conversation. Glad HEP is here.

Gravatar "puddle | Homepage | 07.03.08 - 11:16 pm | #"

He wasn't the *first* Bozo. But, he was the one to make Bozo a household name. The name, apparently, gets passed along - like The Dread Pirate Roberts. ("How is it that you only left me *5* years ago - when The Dread Pirate Bozo has been marauding for 20?")

Gravatar Hi, Renee

Gravatar puddle...good post over at the BFA conversation cooler.

Gravatar gotta go...my turn to hold little Savannah...Grandma & Grampa, we be baby sitting tonight.

Gravatar Hey all...just passing through.

Gravatar Dang! Wish I'd refreshed before posting -- missed k♥

Gravatar Hi Lenny!

Gravatar Thanks, Reed. You, too. Enjoy that baby -- they grow up so fast. . . .

Gravatar Hi Puddle. Thanks for big the wave!

Gravatar Wow, I guess I inverted my words a bit in that last post. Time for bed!

Gravatar I'm just passing by too. Long day today--off to the Bay Area (Alameda County) to testify in the trial of a foolish young man who was caught parked after obviously driving very drunk. [I first wrote "drunk as a skunk, but thought better of defaming woods kitties.] The prosecutor was a law clerk being supervised by a Deputy DA--her first trial; I was a sweetheart and helped her out as much as I could. We brought back Daughter*in*Art*School for the weekend. Long day. I can nap tomorrow before heading out to job No. 2 at the rural hospital for the weekend.

Yep, d@mn shame about BFA, and DFA too. But it's water under the bridge.

listener--please excuse me for not following Ally closely, but I have some emotional issues with that. What kind of transplant are we talking about? Bone marrow? Stem cells?

Gravatar Hi gang,

Just checking in to say "hi". Haven't been posting because I've been working 18-hour days. My brother is all crippled up with sciatica and a bad back. That means I've been babysitting all day plus doing both the inside and the outside work. See? Boring.

I'm grateful that I'm healthy and strong enough to do it all, but it sure doesn't make for interesting comments.

And I'm pretty sick of politics. Can't handle the level of frustration it instills, and don't have any time to go out and physically get involved any more. Haven't been to a meeting in over a year. And don't have any candidates I believe in enough to go work for them.

Anyway, I do read the blog, just feel like I have nothing to add most of the time. Sometimes life is just the color gray.

Gravatar ♥ Susan.

Get on Twitter. It's fun, and I can help you learn the ropes.

Gravatar Susan, always missed when you're not here. Hugz

Gravatar Everybody out watching fireworks, eh?

My son and grandbabies are coming up tomorrow, and leaving early enough Monday to get my granddaughter back for her swim meet. The time for seeing grannies is now scheduled between swim meets. . . .

There are times I feel such pity for the little ones. Where are the endless summers and big fields and time to figure out what ants are up to?

Gravatar Anyone home?
