Pronouncing the word "nuclear" correctly is clear evidence of what a commie exremist is Obama.
It also probably means that he's too much of a wuss to unzip his fly and wag his multiple-warhead trouser snake at our enemas...like he had orter.

It's not a huge reduction (1500-1675, down from about 2200 or so) but it's a start and it's an earnest of their resolve to live up to the NPT's control regime. It's vital that the US and Russia have the credibility in order to talk to other states about their nuclear stockpiles or ambitions.
I commend Obama for taking this step, but I bet he can push this a lot further if he wants.
If Americans knew what they spent every year to maintain and upgrade our nuclear stockpile, I'm pretty sure they'd choose to reduce it all the way to 100 weapons or so simply as a cost-saving measure.
Nukes, so far, are only used in conventional wars and unless there are aliens planning to attack us, I don't see any immediate threat from a conventional foe.
Reducing their number is a worthy goal.
