What's really scary about Texas is how much the rest of the country may start to emulate it. With the federal government in the hands of the "dangerously insane or insanely ignorant," I'm afraid Texan attitudes have already been exported.
Sometimes economists say, "as California goes, so goes the nation." The creepy parallel would be in assuming moral authority, "as Texas goes, so goes the nation." Shudder.
No, there aren't enough idiot musclehead movie stars to govern every state. At least I hope there aren't.
