Dobson and his ilk are as receptive to compromise as Dobson was willing to compromise with Siggie. Any hint of "no" or maybe is a questioning of authority. They believe god has given them authority in this world and therefore we are all miscreants refusing to accept the truth. And since Ratz was elected pope it's been positively eerie the downright assumed chummy solidarity the "dominionists" have been expressing with the RC. Like they got slipped another great card for their poker hand and they can barely contain their delight. We can rest secure in the knowledge that should the Dominionists have their civil war and kill off all of us heathens then the Fundies and RCs will then shortly turn against each other and Jews too.
Yes...and I never forgive the people responsible for killing off my belief in Santa Claus. Nothing is more fragile (or defended) than a belief system which does not conform to real world mappings.
