H, I had passed on baking lamingtons (time consuming but worth it) in favour of vegemite and cheese on crackers (worse than plain vegemite because it ruins a perfectly edible slice of cheddah in the process... but oh so bloody quick). Everyone should suffer a taste at least once in their lifetime. I liken it to trying Bangkok Deepfried Locusts ... exotic to the point of disgusting if you haven't grown up consuming the stuff.
So, I was just walking in the door with my plate held high...
only to discover my efforts rendered null and void by your wording the party up beforehand. doh.

Less than 2 weeks now... and the chaos of packing up a life is making me more unreliable than ever. I would promise some damper for next time but I think we both know I'll eat it before I see you all again. If only I had thought to steal the dish of apple butter on my visit to the farm - it would go almost as well on damper as it does on scones!
